I've been thinking about this for a while, and I think this idea is the best one out of the lot.
For those of you familiar with GitHub Issues, you'll know that there are italicised lines of text that denote actions being done on the issue. They denote what the action was and who did it. This is a good way of keeping track of how the issue is evolving over time.
Helpdesks, however, don't have something like that just yet. Documentation of who closed the issue is the key. Also, lines denoting the addition of time estimates andd categorization would be nice as well.
