Scars of miroddin is the most recent set. Then they have the 2011 core set, and even 2010. And other things like that... and i think the eldrazi set is to, not sure though.

Oh... 8th edition isn't legal in tournaments. Only the five most recent sets are legal in tournaments.

I got the Beginner core game edition... I have an okay deck, at least for a beginner like myself. Good thing i have a balance between land cards and creatures.
