Wii News: Wiimmfi patcher for Wii available on... the Internet Channel?

Please note: I did NOT ask MrBean35000vr or Fullmetal5 for permission to make this blogpost, so i'll make this short, although I think they'll be fine with this.

So, on December 12th, 2017, Fullmetal5 posted a GBATemp thread (New free homebrew entry point. FlashHax
) showing a new exploit on the Internet Channel (yes, the Internet Channel) that allows the Wii system to run a homebrew application without an SD Card (while other exploits need one). This exploit is called flashhax. This is a better method over the other Wii exploit not requiring a disc game that works on version 4.3, Letterbomb, as that needs an SD card, your Wii's MAC Address, a computer that can download and unzip a file, and preform a reCAPTCHA (the toughest part imo). Flashhax can be executed simply by going to a certain webpage, adding it to favorites, restarting the channel, and opening the favorite. Fullmetal5 has the source available, and so, on December 18th, 2017, the YouTube channel MrBean35000vr (MrBean35000vr released a video here demonstrating use of flashhax. Simply by adding http://chadsoft.co.uk/wiimmfi to favorites, restarting the channel and going to the page, the Wiimmfi patcher is run and whatever retail disc game is in the disc slot will be booted with Wiimmfi replacing Nintendo WFC.

There are a few important notes here. 1. MrBean35000vr did not create Wiimmfi, as Wiimm and Leseratte did. 2. Because of hackers, you will get error code such as 23899 on Mario Kart Wii if you have never played online before, and error code 60000 if you have played online on Nintendo WFC before the shutdown on May 20th, 2014. 3. The patch preformed by this system is not permanent. You must go to this page each time you wish to play online in order to do so, just as you would when launching the Wiimmfi patcher from the Homebrew channel.

If you want to know more about it, I suggest reading the forum post here.

That's cool! This seems like a great entrypoint for beginners to homebrew.
