Within the context of replying to Thi. You’re actually insulting his work. Learn.

While newcomer could also do the same effect, it provides more context to what you actually mean: Being that he recently joined. Saying “beginner” is actually an iffy area where Poe’s law takes affect. You might actually be insiuninating that he’s a beginning author rather then a newcomer.

I had an add on comment to that comment, which explains the difference? Did I miss something?

Here: "While newcomer could also do the same effect, it provides more context to what you actually mean: Being that he recently joined. Saying “beginner” is actually an iffy area where Poe’s law takes affect. You might actually be insiuninating that he’s a beginning author rather then a newcomer."

I'm explaining in the above paragraph how beginner and newcomer can't exactly fit into that exact context that he's using. I'm not saying the textbook definitions are different. (I mean they could be? I don't know that, but that's not what I'm saying) I was literally dunking on Jonah with a more "right" context word choice. That actually insulates his point more. The original word he used would be more vague to his point.
