On a cold winter night two monsters were lurking around a hiking trail hoping to find a delicious human to feast on, or at least one of them.
"Wendy, what the heck?! we almost had a place to stay, then you ate the guys hand!!!" Eric screamed.
"Look, I was getting hungry, but thanks to your weird human thing, now we have no food!" Wendy said, picking some skin and blood out of her teeth. These two particular monsters were Wendigos. They aren't exactly friendly creatures. They are born to instinctually prey upon humans, or at least most of them...
"Human thing, are you trying to imply something?!?!" Eric asked accusingly.
"Yes, I'm trying to imply that maybe you like the humans and don't want to consume them as your main source of food." Wendy stated rudely, as if this was the most offensive thing she'd heard in her life. Then they heard footsteps behind them making them jump, quickly turning into their human forms. That is correct, they can morph into humans. Eric looked like the regular run of the mill guy. Black short hair and a white shirt with blue jeans. (Minus the glowing yellow eyes.) Wendy was an interesting sight in her dark grey tights, boots and a leather jacket with a long red scarf around her neck. She also had shorter blond hair. She looked normal (Again, minus te glowing yellow eyes.)
"Uh...Hold on Australian Guy, there's two creepy fellow teenagers staring at me in my late night normal forest walk..I'll call you back later if that's okay." the mystery man said.
"Nah mate." Australian Guy replied. "Dude, you've like only said nah mate for an hour now, is that all you're capable of saying?!" The man asked but Australian Man hung up.
The man looked maybe 16-17 and was incredibly muscular. He was menacing. So menacing in fact that Eric grabbed Wendy by the waist and slowly moved her in front of him.
"A-Are you using me as a meat shield?!?" She asked offended.
"Pretty much, yeah." Eric responded.
"Hey, I'm Chad." The man spoke warmly, suddenly seeming less menacing. He held out his hand and Eric shook it. "Eric." Eric stated. He looked and Wendy "What your name?" He asked.
"Wendy." She said bluntly.
"Wait, don't you go my high school, I swear I've seen you guys before...." Chad thought out loud.
Then something clicked in Eric's brain. "Oh, yeah we do, I've seen you before, you're in the football team, right?" Eric asked.
"Yeah, I'm a quarter back... I do a lot of [Football terms here.]"
(Clearly the author of this book doesn't know much about football.)
"So, since we're pretty much friends because we know who you are, I was wondering if we could stay at your place instead of freezing to death!" Eric asked.
Chad looked at us for a split second the ultimately decided we were some trustworthy individuals who would be allowed to live in his house. "Sure." He stated, we began walking to his cabin in the woods through many windings roads and Wendy's legs started to ache, so what did she do? Well she reminded us every 7 minutes of course! Eventally we arrived at the cabin and looked around it, it had a 3 bedrooms, and one bathroom. A kitchen, a living room. Pretty much everything it needed to be considered a house. With no lighting other than the furnace burning. It was very cozy, Wendy and Eric almost felt at peace, almost. "So, what do you guys eat?" Chad asked, digging through his freezer.
"Huma-"
Eric covered Wendy's mouth.
"Any form of meat." He stated. Eventally Wendy got tired of being silenced by Eric and decided the best course of action would be to lick his hand. The plan worked perfectly as he retracted it. "WHAT THE HECK?!?!" Eric screamed.
This commotion was soon ceased by Chad grilling something. It smelled like.....Steak....
"So do you just, live here alone?" Eric asked.
"Parents went missing, pretty much just me here." Then Chad remembered a crucial detail.
"A-And you guys I guess....Now..." He finished. Swiftly moving through cabinets and grabbing various spices. "So we do live here now. Nice." Eric said proudly.
"Your room is someone in the hallway, find it or something, kinda busy here." Chad said jugging cooking objects.
E walked over towards the hallway, motioning Wendy to follow me.
"So...He doesn't seem like an axe murder...." Wendy said happily.
"Of course he isn't, he's Chad!" Eric projected, hearing his footsteps creak until a painting on the hallway caught his eye. "Uh...Wen, might wanna look at this.." He whispered. Wendy looked at the painting, it was a picture of a rotting human skull, no doubt still fresh. There was a crow perched on top of it, definitely an uneasy symbol. It gave Eric a bad feeling, however on Wendy's end...
"Yeah, it's a painting of a dumb bird, come on Eric lets just get to our room, I wanna sleep." She complained. It didn't take long to reach the guest room, it had a two beds in it, various bits of furniture. Dressers and such all crafted out of fine oak wood. Whoever owned this place before Chad moved in must have been loaded. Wendy
