The blue sparks drifted around in the black landscape that wasn't a landscape at all. Lauren laid down in her new Ellipse hoodie, curled up on the floor. Sobbing. Wishing she had done things differently. Wishing she still had Tyrone, or Maddy....Or the Moth thingy. Or even the gay demon.
"What the hell do you people want from me?!" She yelled between sobs.
"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!??" She yelled again, but to no avail.
The icing on the cake was that it was Tyrone's birthday today. He was nowhere to be found. Lauren was also trapped in the Ellipse, which is a simulation we're all to familiar with. Things were not looking up for our protagonist. I mean look at her, she's currently "subsiding" In a infinite hellscape. Suddenly everything went black and....
She jolted awake in her pod as thr scientist man removed the various wires through her body. Her first sight was quite alarming since we was....Leaning over her.
"Kinda freaky doc, waking up to you.....Standing over me..." She quipped, rubbing her eyes.
"Stand up." The man known as Dr. Rosenberg stated. No, not THAT Rosenberg. He died. This was his son. Barry. The name doesn't sound as threatening as DR. ROSRNBERG...Does though so he kept it. Clearly he wasn't a real doctor. "Oh boy.....Who do I get to kill today?" Lauren spat out with sarcastic energy, slowly rising.
"Don't be so nonchalant about it, we're doing it for a good cause. You have something we want. Your ancestor's DNA." Rosenberg said, walking towards the exit.
"Please don't go on the lectur-" Lauren was interrupted.
"How do birds know how to migrate to the winter. Better yet, how does animal instinct work?" Rosenberg quizzed.
Lauren had heard it one to many times.
"Because the Dna strings house the Dna that predates the current, so the animals know their past mistakes through the bloodline. The same applies to humans." Lauren spoke tiredly as she walked alongside Rosenberg.
"Where are you bringing me this time?" she asks stifling a yawn.
"Your reaction chamber." Barry states with a matter of fact voice
What Lauren doesn't know is that this is a life or death training system, different from her normal reaction chamber
more on that later...
"Great which test is it this time?" Lauren asks
Barry chuckles at the question and the keep walking alongside eachother.
What Lauren doesn't ask Barry is the question nagging her mind
"WHERE ARE MY FRIENDS" this voice in her head won't stop screaming!
As they walk together Lauren gets to see each room, or as she calls it, "each persons special torture." She has always fought her emotions since Dr. Rosenburg brought her in as a baby. Rosenburg was always kind to her and helped her through every challenge, but when he died and his son took over, it all went to hell. First of all, he made the subjects stay in their chambers 2 times longer a day, and he gave them much less "fun time"
There hasn't been much mention of Lauren's friends in this part. But perhaps in part two we'll learn more?
To be Continued.
AUTHORS NOTE:
Time after time after time, I have been trying to write a Ellipse book, but to no avail I always felt like I wasn't good enough to do it.......So I found someone who was. Benten himself.
He helped write this. We pretty much did half and half writing. That way I don't get burnt out and abandon it!
Also another thank you to @Rosebloodstone (Rest in peace, you never use paint anymore) And @Sandisgoodtoeat for helping out with bits of lore pieces!
