Tangled Threads
Life and death, a twisted game,
Why we breathe, why we fade, all the same.
You say you care, but what’s it worth,
When shadows lurk behind my mirth?
Friend or foe, a line so thin,
A smile hides the beast within.
Could I hurt you just for fun,
Even though we’ve both begun
To share this fragile bond, this tie,
Yet in the end, we all must die.
What makes a life, what makes a friend,
If all we touch can quickly end?
I seek the why, you seek the how,
But does it matter to us now?
In this cruel game, we laugh, we play,
But in the dark, we're led astray.
So here we stand, on this fine line,
Life and death, both intertwined.
