"Now there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves." 2 Peter 2:1
Since the beginning of Christianity there has been misinterpretations and false teachings, most were from lack of knowing but all are malicious to teach and promote.
What is a heresy? A heresy is a belief that is contradictory to the teachings of the Scripture and the Early Church Fathers. Not to be confused with a heterodoxy, a heterodoxy would be a belief that prevents Christians from being in communion with one another, an example would be the heterodoxy of infant Baptism, if one says you cannot Baptize babies that would be heterodox to all other denominations.
Heresies, de facto, make you "not Christian". Some may still call you Christian, but you are, in essence, a heretic and not among the brethren. Notable heretical groups would be Jehovah's Witnesses, for the Arian heresy, Latter Day Saints, for the tritheism heresy, and Oneness Pentecostals, for the modalism heresy.
I will be explaining all heresies of the Christian faith so we Christians will not, by mistake, fall to them and so we can point out which people teach heresy.
The structure of the blog will be the heresy, history, historical and biblical condemnation, teaches and groups that follow or promote the heresy, and the conclusion.
