Hey guy's it's me jax and everything should know matpat from game theory since he basically formed our generation and I'm not meaning gen alpha because I really don't want to get on that subject.
But have you thought about his life and how he got to where he is today well that is why I'm looking into his life.
His early life
Matthew Robert Patrick (matpat) was born on November 15 1986 in medina, ohio and he has ancestors were polish,Czech, and slovak.
He got his nickname matpat in the six grade by his friends at his school,as a young child he had interests in video games, theater, and school.
He was also a valedictorian in is graduating class and received a scholarship ship at duke University where he graduated in 2009 with a double major in theater and psychology and a concentration in neuroscience.
His career
He always wanted to be a actor so he moved to New York to pursue it which didn't go well and he was unemployed for 2 years.
His first videos on YouTube was auditions for stage plays but he revamped it where he would demonstrate where he could write, research, and edit videos really well.
Inspired by an Extra Credits episode on tangential learning,MatPat uploaded the first episode of Game Theory on April 18, 2011
It discussed the idea of time portals and quantum mechanics in the 1995 video game Chrono Trigger.
The channel slowly gained subscribers and his videos were posted on the front pages of sites such as ScrewAttack and GameTrailers.
In 2012 MatPat introduced two new segments hosted by fellow YouTubers Gaijin Goombah and Ronnie Edwards (the latter of these two would also become Game Theory's first editor), and Austin Hourigan's "The SCIENCE!"
In 2015, MatPat launched the spin-off channel Film Theory, which covers movies and television. This channel reached over one million subscribers in a month.
When matpat posted the how fast is sonic the hedgehog video back in 2012 he was criticized by with some of critics and YouTube channels.
*Some critics argue that MatPat's research was flawed and didn't consider certain aspects of Sonic's abilities or lore. For example, some pointed out inconsistencies in his arguments about Sonic's speed based on the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games series.
*VSauce Reaction: MatPat's "Sonic is Slow" theory, by his own admission, was a reaction to a VSauce video about Sonic. This suggests a friendly, if slightly competitive, engagement with VSauce's analysis.
*Game Theory Theory: MatPat is Biased": One YouTube video titled "Game Theory Theory: MatPat is Biased" specifically analyzes MatPat's Sonic theory, highlighting perceived biases and inaccuracies in his claims.
*Some fans of the Sonic franchise, particularly on platforms like Reddit, strongly disagreed with MatPat's theory and voiced their objections in online discussions.
In 2019, The Game Theorists held a 9-hour charity livestream that generated $1.3 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The stream included guests Markiplier, TheOdd1sOut, Rosanna Pansino, Scott Cawthon, and others. Two other charity streams were held for St. Jude in 2020 and 2021
He got together with his wife back when he was at duke University and had a son named Oliver in 2018.
Between his career he has launched 6 channels and finally made a retirement video on game theory on January 9 2024 where his said he was going to focus on his family.
Where is he now?
He has now became a politician and made the creator economy caucus which was made a law in the white house.
Wow this is my longest blog and took a couple hours but here is matpats life.
But that's just a theory A game theory thanks for reading.
This is an incredibly well-written and interesting blog about an interesting person who (prior to reading this) I didn't even know about, actually. (IDK many YouTubers TBH, lol!)
He sounds like a REALLY cool guy, and being into talking about these sorts of things in video games myself (I used to all the time with my sister), I'll be sure to check out his videos whenever I get a chance to, thanks!
I also grew up watching him because he got me interested in the fnaf games because of all the lore he found which I loved to learn and try find in other games.
Try and watch his Minecraft lore videos when you get a chance cause it's very interesting but you have to watch them in order.
