Log: Shadow the Hedgehog
Date: March 21st, 2665

Phantom: You say you knew my ancestors.
Shadow: Yes. I did.
Phantom: What were they like?
Shadow: Well... Sonic, the one you look like, was a speedy one. The fastest living thing of his time. He usually took his time to run, or defeat Dr. Eggman when needed. Jezz and Shelly the Hedgehogs were quite an interesting pair. Jezz was a pacifist, and Shelly was an energetic tomboy. They got along well, and got married when they were old enough.
Phantom: What about Silver, the other one I'm told I resemble?
Shadow: More naive than I thought Sonic was, at the time. Often tried to carry the whole world on his shoulders.
Phantom: I see.
(alarm is heard)
Tory the Chao: Chao chao! Chao chao, chao! (Enemies detected! All units, engage!)
Hehe, no way! On occasion, I will post logs that focus on other characters to document events that #179 or any of the other Spartans were not present for (Like this one, for example).
The next one like this will be let out during the attack on the Black ARMs' home field. Focus will be on Hunter the ODST, and thus will be "ODST Log" for that one.
They didn't say any of the (in this case, partial) origins of the characters there except Shadow. He was a hedgehog (part Black ARM alien, too) from the very beginning. The only character that was a Chao by origin was Chaos 0 from SA1.
In the games' continuity (which is where I'm coming from), the characters were never Chao. They were always what they were (hedgehog, fox, echidna, etc.). But Chao that look like the characters do exist, I suppose. I've seen multiple drawings of Sonic Chao, so I dunno where those come from. But Character Chao are not the characters themselves. That much is certain.

@ Tory: This is over 600 years after Sonic & Tails' time, and 400 years after Silver's time, so all 3 are dead by now. Your Chao will actually be taking Tails' role as the tech-guy (I read somwhere that Chao don't live forever, and can be "reborn", so, keeping in mind that your Chao was bonded to Tails and Silver previously, I'm gonna make the claim that he went through several re-incarnations ;D). Silver's role kinda goes nowhere. xD
