The stairs I have
Fallen down...
They never fail
to turn my mood around.

They are carpeted,
which doesn't mean
that falling down them
makes them clean.

I get bumps, and bruises,
and wedgies, too.
I'm serious, really!
This is true.

Once the fall
is all said and done
I have to admit
I had a bit of fun.

Sometimes,
I decide
to climb back to the top
and take another ride.

If there was a time,
when carpeted they were not,
I'd have to admit,
my experience wouldn't be so hot.

Alas, alas,
The truth isn't loose
When I get back up
I have a sore caboose.
