This is my review for the Mexican deathcore band Here Comes The Kraken's self-titled debut.
Sound:10
The sound on this album really packs a punch. Very powerful, with great riffs and technicality
Sound Quality:9
The mixing on this album gives it a more raw sound. not that it sounds bad just a little...muddy
Vocals:8.5
The vocals are are not remarkable, but they compliment the music very well.
Guitars:9.5
The guitars sound very crisp and clear, and the guitarists themselves do a fine job, somehow adding in a melody that sounds good with all the brutality.
Percussion:10
Wow.Just wow. The drummer is insanely fast and precise. Listen to the song The Legend of the Rent is way Hardcore and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Overal:9
Here Comes The Kraken did a fine job with there first album. Even though the mixing and the vocals arnt the best, they really brought a new good sound to the table.
Although parts of the review contained very articulate descriptors (like "precise" for the drummer, "muddy" for the mix, "crisp and clear" for the guitar), the majority of the review does not go into enough detail to convince the consumer to purchase the album. "pretty good", "monster", "favorite", and "amazing", do not convey the coherent message. I will decline placing this on the homepage for now, but if you can flesh out the review in more detail, I will feature it.
