Hey, I thought I'd post a quick blog just to give everyone an update both on and off the website.

First, I had a major sinus surgery Thursday morning. For years, I'd had multiple sinus infections per year, and I'd depend on allergy medicines or decongestants to survive each day. Every since moving to Ohio, I'd take about 15 minutes everyone morning to clean my sinuses. I felt like that snot kid in Wind Waker at times.

I've been recovering the past few days from the surgery, but there is still a while to go. I tried to pop into one of the chatrooms just to say hi on Friday, even in a lot of pain, but I couldn't handle all the rampant requests for everything imaginable, so I left. I will go back into the chatrooms in a few days, but I don't feel up to it at the moment. (In the future, please make such requests in SDK Mail, and especially don't keep blitzing the same requests.)

When I wasn't passed out on painkillers this weekend, I had several plans for The Mystical Journey on mind. I've even had dreams about levels for the game since I can't do much more than just lie in bed and think about what I'd like to be doing.

The NPC Test on the homepage is just one preview of what's to come. What we have in the works (that includes the entire talented team) is sure to be an enjoyable experience for many. I did get a chance yesterday to run some early tests on multi-user interaction, which will eventually evolve into the multiplayer aspect of the game. This is what my main focus for this blog will be...

The multiplayer aspect of The Mystical Journey will take place in a coliseum that lies within the ruins of Mt. Hildar, an ancient civilization that once thrived on gladiatorial games. From the ruins of Mt. Hildar came a renewed interested in the game, bringing fighters and traders from across the land.

The coliseum will be comprised of numerous rooms. In each room, players will be able to chat or trade goods. There will also be several shops set up for buying and sellings weapons, armor, and items - to that point of progression in the main quest. Players will be able to battle each other, wagering gold pieces or game items for the winnings.

Expect many aspects of the Mt. Hildar coliseum to be ready by the end of the year!
