It came to my notice earlier today, through several confessions, that members of this website came across a glitch that allowed defrauding the Savii Points system. I took my lunchbreak at work today to clean up the message the members created. At least 10 members fraudulently added between 1000 and 5000 Savii Points, some using it to unlock much of the add-on content and con other members with auctions. Some of these accounts have been shut down; others have the points zeroed, auction bids forfeited, and add-on content removed.

I thought members of this website were above that type of activity, but I was wrong and am disappointed by the actions. Yet, I do appreciate that the consciences of some members caught up to them, leading to apologies and explanations of how the now-fixed bug was exploited. I realize that everyone makes poor choices and that we learn from them, so those members are forgiven.

What members have to realize is that the Saviis took 100s of hours over 2 months to make, and development is still on-going. We knew that their popularity would bring more load to the server. That load costs money, which the Savii Bucks are meant to offset.

Sure, it would be great to make a living with this website, but realistically we would like to cover the costs of the hosting, domain names, and the software and hardware used to develop it. By covering those costs, we can re-invest into the future, such as the upcoming 3DSPaint projects. By defrauding the system, it hurts everyone.
