Psychic abilities, what causes them? Is the cause biology or spiritual? Lets consider for this blog that it's something to do with biology that causes "psychic phenomena."
If you look at the research done on psychic phenomena today, you usually get the basic definition for specific abilities such as: clairvoyance, clairaudience, & clairsentience. On the other hand, there is not always harmony on what embodies these clair-experiences. For example, would the appearence of a pattern be enough to actuate clairvoyant abilities, or would an authentic image of an article or transaction clearly identified in the past, present, or future be required? It seems as if what certifies as a "hit" is not always agreed upon. The lack of harmony is also apparent when it comes to certainty: How truly certain a person is when they describe a past, present, or future event.
To this day, the scientific community has generally agreed taht psychic ability can't be measured because it's not an exact science. Most disupute whether or not psychic abilities even exist. In other words, scientists aren't willing to look at what might possibly be only an ability to be good at guessing. Have you seen those online tests that can measure if one is psychic or not? One is asked to guess a color or number hiding under a card, if one guesses correctly enough times, the results say announce that the person has a high probability of being a psychic. According to the results, many psyhics themselves score very poorly on these tests, yet, when they're reading to their clients, these same psychics have an unnatural ability to recall events & situations with a pretty good degree of efficiency. Among their abilities, they might be able to hear conversations & feel physical ailments. What is it that explains this distinction?
Maybe guessing a color or shape behind a card does not completely measure the authentication of psychic ability. Predicting an outcome or experience is quite different then predicting a color or shape, & these "predictions" are only a fraction of what defines a psychic ability. Astonishingly, being a psychic has nothing to do with predicting the future. Being a psychic is having the ability to sense things BEYOND our 5 basic senses information from the past, present, & future. Not all psychic have that gift of prophecy, but yet some are able to give EXACT detail to someone's past (such as a divorce), medical ailments (such as a stomachache), or even a loved one who has passed on (such as the cause of death), with VERY little, to no information at all about the person they are reading for or the situation. Maybe, the meaning of "psychic" is what stops the everyday scientific community from accepting that there are everyday "normal" people among us that DO have ESP. Does it really go AGAINST logic to be uncertain as to whether a cause for psychic abilities is biological, or more...intuition or instinctual? What we label as 'psychic' may not necessarily be as special or 'mystical' as we think. Some humans just might be inherently inclined to exercise a gene that has become progressively dormant with every generation that passes. Every animal is imprinted with a natural perception (called instinct)in which the primary function is to stay alive. Maybe, psychic abilities are merely instinct that has been converted to fit todays dangers.
In the past, before our ancesors had verbal communication, they had to talk between each other & the world itself, in different ways. They just knew who to mate with to keep the lineage going, it was instinct, they knew what situations were likely dangerous, they knew where to find food. What our ancestors once knew seems to have crumbled today. It's possible this is why those who don't have the 'psychic' gene rely on those who do to find things out that they want to know & to answer their questions about carrying on the lineage, the dangers of today, & applying the abilities to hunt. There is a theory that psychic ability is instinctual, but that theory opposes the idea that ESP is an evolutionary or progressive trait. Alternatively, it accommodates the idea that ESP is recessive & that it has only managed to remain active in a certain number of individuals. The ability has simply been phasing out as humans develop new ways to talk & with the world in general.
But, what if these scientists are measuring the WRONG thing? What if these scientists are measuring the the result of this triat, & not the trait itself (the trait being the psychic abilities) What if they are only measuring a PART of the trait instead of taking the trait as a WHOLE & measuring it's individual pieces? The quesion: Can a psychic really predict the future? That question is incomplete because it assumes that a psychic has only 1 ability-prophecy. It's rare to see reports on somebody who claims to be psychic who can describe the lives & activities of people whom they have never met with certainty.
The lack of research....could it be monetary? Maybe it's because that research into prophecies is more advantageousness then research into people who can actually recognize medical ailments? We don't know for certain. But, maybe the future will hold a possible link between biology & psychic ability. We can only hope that the doors will be open to study this phenomenon, before it is inactive.
This article was placed in my own words, but the website for the article is below:
i thing everybody has these abilities, its just most people just dont know how to use it, like moving your ear, some people can, some cant. but everybody has the same muscles/bones! we just dont know how to control it.
now, if you will excuse me, im gunna try to predict the answers to my next math test...
a,j,c,f,d,h,b,g,b,f
bet $5 most of those are wrong
People who believe in this need to...actually think. Your brain is CONSTANTLY running probabilities about nearly anything that could happen. When you guess things right, it was because of that, not some psychic ability. Everyday people who have a so called "psychic" ability have a chance to test it, and when they're wrong, they ignore and forget it, so it's obvious that they'll claim that the instances where they predicted something would happen came true proves their "psychicness." There is no one with a psychic ability. Clairvoyance is just garbage, as is palm reading, aura reading and such. It's all statistics, your brain needs them.
