Again, sorry for the long absences that are coming between stories. I'm doing this to make up for it. Enjoy!!
Two burly mermen in gleaming bronze armor floated beside the entrance. Beyond the great pearl arch they were floating at was a long walkway- er, swimway lined with similar, but smaller arches, leading to the doorway of the palace. Ampon lifted a pendant he was wearing around his neck. It was a shining, cream colored shell encrusted with a deep green marble-like gem.
The two gaurds glanced at it and nodded. "Follow us," one of the gaurds said. He and his partner turned and led us down the path. Ampon grabbed me and we swam after the gaurds. I looked up at the palace door. It was tall and wide, encrusted with pearls. It had a big, brass handle on each door.
Each gaurd took a handle and pulled with their might. The door opened with a loud, screeching groan. The gaurds let us through and closed the doors. I looked around in amazement.
There were columns in the halls. The floors were marble and the cieling was shining as though it were silver. Golden chandeliers hung from the cielings, glowing with aamber orbs. Beautiful furniture rested by some of the walls. A mirror, a golden chair with a turquoise cushion, a polished side table.
"Stop wasting time," Ampon said, pulling me towards a hall."Hurry up!" I swam fast to keep Ampon from ripping my arm off. The hall opened up to a large room. Before us there as a grand staircase with burgundy carpeting. It led to fancy golden doors. On either side of the staircase were more rooms. I was puzzled. Why were there stairs?
Ampon saw me staring at the stairs, confused. "Decoration," he said. "Oh," I replied.
We swam up to the doors. Ampon opened them up and we swam into the throne room. The king sat on a high back throne with golden dolphins as the arms.
