The lights around me glistened, shone, sparkled. My dress of pink silk rustled on the plush, expensive carpet. I looked from the beautiful tables with crystal dinnerware and fancy linen tableclothes to the enormous, un curtained windows and french doirs leading to the balcony outside. I quicklt brushed a crumb off my gown and went to talk to my aunt Layla, the one who started me on my career as an actress.
The story was simply this- at home in Kansas my aunt realized my talent, took me to live with her in Las Vegas, I got private lessons on acting and my first big break in a blockbuster movie.
That was 3 years ago, and I am happier now then i've ever been in my life. I'm 14, beautiful, and have to much money. And now i'm at the biggest party of my life.
A felt a hand rest on my shoulder. My heart skipped a beat when i realized it was Gabriel Peterson, a really handsome boy i'd done my last movie with. He liked me, and I loved him, but neither of us would admit it.
"Hey Dana, wanna' come out on the balcony with me for a while?"
I looked at my aunt. She smiled and nodded. "Sure," I said, trying to surpass my excitement.
We stepped out into the cool air of the fall night. My bare shoulders felt the refreshing breeze. I looked over and on a pavillon below my friend Scarlet was laughing with some friends. Gabriel slipped his hand into mine. I could feel my heart pounding. He led me over to the rail and we stopped. It was quiet for a few minutes, then I noticed him looking at me. He turned.
"Dana, do you remember that movie scene were you were rescued and you hugged me and got close to me like this?"
I muffled a gasp as he put his face close to mine. "Yes," I softly whispered.
He put his hands around my waist. "But we never did what we were going to do in the scene because it had my dad stepping up. Dana", his voice dropped to a whisper,"do you want to finish that scene?"
I suddenly saw Scarlet looking at me.
"Yes", I said.
