MineBlog is about my experiences in Minecraft, In this first edition I'll be explaining the concept and basics of Minecraft, anyone who already plays is encouraged to skip this 1st Mineblog.
Minecraft is a sandbox game. There are currently two versions of the game;
-Creative mode
This is free and is reallynothing special, you get a randomly generated environment and infinite blocks to build with. As the name suggests, this game is all about creating. There is also a multiplayer mode to create with others, one or two people have made little minigame type servers, such as lava survival.
(Note: Creative is no longer updated.)
-Survival mode
You must pay for this, but I think it's money well spent, this mode gets lots of updates. Unlike creative mode you do not have infinite blocks, you must collect them. You collect blocks by holding down the mouse button on them, this causes your character to punch the item repeatedly until it breaks. There is also a crafting system so you can combine the things you have collected to make some very cool things.You need to make an area that is protected from monsters. Monsters only appear in dark areas, but the game has day and night, at night you should get in an area with no way for monsters to get in and lit up with torches (Yes, the game has dynamic lighting.) Monsters can kill you, causing you to lose your stuff. One particular monster explodes, destroying the area around it if you get within one block of it. Many houses have been destroyed by them. The next day the sun burns some of the monsters. It leaves spiders and the explosive monsters. I could tell you much more, I haven't even mentioned half of what this game has, but I'm out of space. I assure you, this game is a value for money. I've had more fun on it than on my £40 wii games.
