This is just a rage-filled rant, if you aren't interested, go away.
So Friday, during 5th block [pre-calculus], our class had a substitue teacher; he assigned us book work, the first book work we had the entire class. It was just simplifying exponents and factoring, so I thought it was easy enough. However, they were pretty complicated, and each problem took several steps to solve. [Hang on, I'll get to the point eventually]. Well, pretty much every other student [who are all 1-2 grade(s) above me] decided to just use an online calculator. My response:
Why?
Are you really THAT lazy that you can't do it yourself?
Are you really THAT ignorant, that you won't do any work, just because you have an easy way out of it online?
Either you're too lazy to just do the work, or you're ignorant as hell to not know the material when we went over it for almost a week!
I mean, I'm a sophomore, and I'm having no trouble doing the work myself, unlike the juniors and seniors!
