It's old. Very old. I'm goin' to review every DS game I own though, and this is the first I found.
Story: A strong point, as this is one of those delightful choose your own ending sort of plotlines. It's really not THAT compelling, but it's enough to keep you interested. But story? WHO CARES? I WANNA SHOOT THINGS.
Gameplay: Well, it's not bad, but it falls much below my standards for Star Fox. Every turn starts out as a "Tactical" view, and you must get enough cores and defeat the boss in a set amount of turns to win. Simple, right? Wrong. This so called tactical view is anything but tactical, since theres a bunch of fog covering everything up. Plus the boss is usually the same [boring] thing every time.
Graphics: Bravo! They got this right, everything looks just fine. Invisible barriers in the boss battles are sometimes painful, but its otherwise clear. Nintendo, next time, keep the graphics, oomph the gameplay, please?
Multiplayer: Same old good Star Fox stuff, but I find the maps a bit too small, and things are too empty. But its got 8-player! Yay! But you better have 8 friends to play with because Wi-Fi only supports 4. Actually, screw Wi-Fi all together because you'll never get matched up with anyone ever. It takes literally, FOREVER!
Ok. Sum up. Here it is!
Story: 7.5/10
Gameplay:6.5/10
Graphics: 8/10
Multiplayer: 7/10
Overall: If you are a Star Fox addict, get it. For everyone else, its at least worth a rent.
