In 2011 the Nintendo 3DS is going to be launched and has been on a the same scheme as Nintendo consoles of today, the DS launched in 2005 and the 3DS was announced in 2010. With a Nintendo console a 5 year ritual soon followed, the GameCube came out in 2001 and the Wii came out in 2006. With ever console it was shown by the time it was announced or launched.

With this current generation HD has influenced everything, everything but the Wii. Wii sales have slowed do to the HD twins the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Graphics are one key point and games are another, 3rd party developers on the Wii usually sell games that you would find normally in the bargain bin. With games like that we would call them "shovelware" while you could find good Wii game it would most likely by by the big N themselves. That doesn't mean all Wii has are just Mario and Metroid, there is the legendary .Vs series by Capcom and a new IP by Suda51 called "No more heroes."

With Wii sales waning it seems 2012 may shine a ray of hope for a new console but what would the price be? With consoles expensive as they are now the Wii 2 could be above the 3DS and Wii launch price, with technology being pushed out these days mobile devices are now about rival the Wii in power. With controllers like the Wii remote people are shoving it away for dual analog controllers like the GameCube and PS360 and the fact that original Wii owners have to invest in a Wii motion plus accessory for certain games displeases customers and eventually forces them to a new console.

With a new year not even near us only GDC and E3 2011 can possibly ensure us hope in a Wii 2.
