I should probably clears things up since this blog, Help Desk questions, and BB posts are confused...

I've been thinking of adding more security options for accounts for a while; the massive shutdown of accounts, based on vulgar profile posts, finally gave me a reason to do so. I started by overhauling the friendslist system. The friendliest previously had little meaning since anyone could approve anyone else. This new system is more like other social networking websites. One component of this privacy-related updated was the addition of profile comment blocking. It got to be around midnight when added part of the profile security, so I decided to go to bed and just finish in the morning. When I woke up, I was surprised to find that the world came to an end; the sky came crashing downward; and every member here simultaneously died of a heart attack and brain aneurism. Once I finished adding the security setting for profile comment privacy, some of those members miraculously sprang back to life with anime-sized grins (the mouth open one, not the mouth closed one - if you are confusing frames of animation). If privacy is activated for profile comments, only the following people can post a comment: yourself, profile admins, overlords, and people you have approved on the list of those wanting to be your friends.

I hope this all clears it up because I don't want to see more cerebral detonations when I work on the mailing system next.

Adding everyone in sight is a rather humorous prospect. ^^

But anyway, the option that should enable/disable profile comments doesn't seem to have any effect. From what I gather, it should be showing/hiding the comment box.
