I went to Karen's class to see Evan and Ryan again. Luke was there by the books with a couple of his friends.

My class had to read their books silently. Jayden asks me for a pen. He actually uses it this time!
Lunch
I got a list of 16 names telling me who is the most compatible with me. The first two I didn't care about, and #3 was Luke's friend Drew. Ryan was on the list as well. I was hoping Luke would be on there.
2:00
Luke was at school. That's right. WAS. He wasn't in class. The only one not in class. I'm guessing he was sick. Meanwhile, I had to do a postcard to some random person in the room. It's an assignment. I asked as many questions as Drew did. Seriously.

When class was over, I went to the teacher and talked to her.
"So, what about the people who aren't here today?"
"You're talking about Luke?" she asked.
"Yes. What will he do?"
"I'll explain him everything he missed."
"So, who will he send the card to?"
"I think I should let it pass. This is our first project, and if Luke was sick, he shouldn't do it just because of that."
"Oh, that's a good reason for him not to do it."
"You're so nice about him."
I smiled.
Then I went downstairs to my locker. When I got all my stuff, I saw Drew at his locker. Luke was his locker partner, and none of his stuff was inside.
I talked to Drew. "Hey."
"Hi," he replied. His voice was lower than it was last year.
"Where's Luke?"
"He went home at lunch."
"Is he sick?"
"I don't know."
I waited for my ride then went home.
