I was shocked. I knew it was bad for her, but was it so bad for her that she would rather die then go back home to her parent's? Were her parent's that bad to her? When we arrived at the hospital I called her friends Chrissy & Adria. Chrissy immediately told me how much Isa's parent's hated gay people. How far they would go to get rid of the 'feeling' Isa had for me. Chrissy said they were convinced it was impossible for them to raise a gay child. Suddenly, we heard footsteps behind us. The police asked to speak with Chrissy privately. I went to speak with my aunt.
After speaking with her, I found out where the police had come in. Seems that after Isa's suicide attempt in our bathroom, my aunt had taken everything we said about her parents to heart & called the police. At this point though, her parents were still in charge, there was no way we could tell if Isa was ok or not. That very idea tore me up inside. I started crying, sobbing.'I turned to my aunt & said 'What happens now? I'm not leaving, but how will I know if she's ok?' I cried harder. My aunt gave me a hug & said 'Anaiyah, we'll figure something out, I promise. In the meantime, we'll both stay here.' I continued to cry, & said 'Ican't lose her, I love her so much.' & layed my head in my aunt's lap.
