Server
There have been glitches showing up on the server because it has been overloaded with all the traffic, so I have been tweaking it today for speed and memory usage. I'm sure several of you have noticed downtime, either for a few seconds at a time or for a few minutes. The server tweaks have resulted in 700MB of RAM saved and quicker response time for page requests. I will continue to do little tweaks so that the extra freed RAM will allow more simultaneous page hits.

Blogs
I've updated the blog system so that Saviis can be removed, and blogs can be marked as drafts. A draft blog is not visible to anyone beyond the author. This opens possibilities like making private notes to oneself (a personal notepad) or working on a blog then returning later to finish it for publication. Authors can temporarily mark existing blogs as drafts to hide them then make them visible at a later time, as well.

Chatrooms
All chatroom text gets purged after 5 minutes to keep it running fast in the database. Let's see how much of an improvement this makes with elimination of lag.

Database cleanups
After the chatroom update, I continued working on the database for speed. The first step was to purge all member accounts that were created over a year ago but never verified. Surprisingly, this cleared out 14000 accounts! I followed this cleanup by deleting all automated messages sent to these members by the system. I then moved over to the bulletin boards and removed all threads that were made more than a week ago but were never finished out with a post by the author. This cleared 1600 threads, or about 15% of the total. What all of these cleanups mean for members is faster loading of pages, since two of the biggest database jobs are the chatrooms and the bulletin boards.

OverlorDS
Since several members have accidentally deleted their characters, I have changed the deletion process to just flag a character as deleted. Thus, I can restore any characters from this point forward.
