In the Nintendo world the often revisions happen often and can anger a few people, though it's not that bad it sort of disheartens the people that purchased the system at launch or a bit before the upcoming revision, sometimes when Nintendo dishes out a new handheld revision it often removes something or adds what the old couldn't handle. When a revision comes out there is a yay or a nay that comes out of the community if someone missed out on the 1st edition they praise that they can finally get one, but if someone says nay they are probably upset that they go the 1st edition.
With the DS family there were revisions that came left and right but people thought it was an excuse not to buy a 3DS due to the past problems with the DS, little did they know about the launch dates. The DS came out in 2004 and 2005 and then later on the DS Lite came 2006 which was two years later which provided a time for good games to come right down and get Nintendo ready for the DS lite, in 2008 and 2009 the DSi came out and sure enough brought the same DS gaming on to it adding more ways get games with a shop although it removed the Gameboy Advance slot from it, in almost a full year the DSi XL(LL) came out adding only a bigger size to the playing field caused what people would offer up in excuses for not purchasing a 3DS, iterations being "shoved" down our throat.
With a new Nintendo handheld system coming into view it doesn't have to have an iteration in sight at all, in the USA and Europe they never got a new iteration but Japan was the only one to get it and that was a limited edition. Preventing you from getting a 3DS with that excuse shouldn't stop you from getting one. On a recent Iwata Says Satoru Iwata the Nintendo president said that a "3DS lite" might not be here soon because they stuffed everything they possibly could onto the 3DS. With no new iteration soon there should be no excuses about getting a 3DS, from price to games it's nothing really bad. Bring your ideas to the comments.
before the ds the gaming industry was about getting better at making a console to play slightly better games, now it seems that you just have to have a different package & people will gobble it up. we need new, entrepreneurs to start making games before the industry degenerates into making 2-3 new consoles a year.
it is better to have a whole new console & new games than 3 slightly different consoles & the same games for each.
Nice work. ( hint hint: [ center ] the gameboy image)
Yeah, they might come out with a 3DSi, yes, 3DSi. A 3DS with 2 inner cameras, longer battery life...and who knows a 3DS+? with all angles glasses-free 3D
in 2013, or maybe early 2012 to hit NGP sales?
Hehe, the fact is that Ninty will make some millions, or even a Billion with this huge massive 3DS selling.
The current pre-orders are already exceding Japan's 1.500.000 reserved units.
I wouldn't be surprised if they sell out 4 million 3DS units in April.
