Almost every where I go I have to deal with a disgusting habit. It stops me from enjoying myself at fast food restaurants and normal restaurants. I'm talking about sticky, half dried gum stuck to the bottom of nearly every table in public.
Are people really this lazy that they must hide gum under the top of a table rather than easily getting up and going over to a trash can? It isn't that difficult, people. If you chew a regular size piece of gum you can just put it back in the wrapper when you're done. Well, considering you didn't attempt to throw this, or trash it some place else, that is.
In the past I've gone to my library with family. Occasionally, if I find a good book there about reported sightings of UFO's or Bigfoot, I take it over to a table to read. I sit down and relax, put the book on the table, then put my hands on my lap. But then an uncomfortable feeling falls over me. While putting my hands on my lap, a sticky substance touches my hands from the table above. It is non-other-than a disgusting, black, polka-dotted piece of gum. Far nastier than anything my eyes have ever seen. What kind of indecent person would do this? This habit is horrible.
Gum is delicious. I know; I chew it every now and then. But I would never put it under the top of a table. I actually know that the table will have someone sitting there in due time. I have mercy on the person who will sit there. I'm not just being nice, but thoughtful, and not lazy. I actually throw the gum away. This habit can be broken easily with will power and the strength to get up from a seat and throw used gum where it belongs: in the trash.
At the lunch table their was gum underneath the table and I was crssing my legs then when i had to throw away my garbage my pant leg got stuck and the nurse had to come and cut it off.
Halli- *gag*
That happened to me too. We switched classes and when I sat down, I grabbed the bottom of my chair to scooch forwards a little bit and I felt something wet and slimy on my hand. It was a fresh piece of gum, obviously put there right before class switch. There is a trash can DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE DOOR. They seriously couldn't have kept it in their mouth until they came to the trash can. It was nauseating.
It's not that hard to get up and throw it away, it's horrible how lazy people are, especially at a restaurant where 1: you should have spit it out on your way in, or not have been chewing it at all at a non-fast food restaurant, & 2: you'll have to get up eventually to throw away your food at a fast food place so do it then at least..
This is the reason gum wasn't allowed in my elementary & middle school, it's allowed in my high school, but i've seen people put their gum under their desk which doesn't realy make sense anyway, because it's their desk. I really don't see why people urgently need to take their gum out RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT and don't have time to go to the garbage can.
