The reason I'm writing this blog is because i saw another portal review and i thought you guys needed more info. (im not saying the other one was bad)
PORTAL!!
warning: if you play this game for the first time you might get obsessed like i did
Portal is an innovative puzzle game for PC. As the name implies, you use portals to solve puzzles. You are equiped with an Apeture Science Handheld Portal Device (aka the portal gun) which can make 2 interconnected portals on any smooth surface. So if you walk through the blue portal you walk out of where the orange portal is and so forth. Its actually hard to explain ( I reccomend playing or watching a video to get the feel of how portals work).
The Story:
In portal, you play as Chell (the savii looks pretty close to her). She is a woman going through the testing facilities at Apeture Science Labroratories (a research company with a shady past). You are guided through the "test chambers" by an AI named GLaDOS. GLaDOS has a woman's voice and is a bit odd. You can tell from the begining that there's something off about GLaDOS mostly by what she says. The idea is to complete 19 test chambers to recieve the promised cake and grief counseling at the end so you use your portal gun and try to finish all the puzzles in the chambers....
Portal is available through a free distribution software called Steam made by portal's developer (VALVe)
unfortunatley portal isnt free and im not sure how much it is...sorry.
anyway portal is a great innovative game with humor and some new experiences and concepts in gaming. i think everyone should play it!
