January, 2011 tragedy struck Auburn University, Alabama. It all started as the BCS National Championship ended. Auburn beat Oregon and claimed the title as the winners of the BCS National Championship. Of course, half of the US was angry and the other half was as happy as could be. Almost the entire state of Alabama (excluding Alabama Univerity fans which despised this) partied that night. One particular man, who was a former Texas Police officer, celebrated with beer that night in hopes OREGON would win. He lived 3 miles from Auburn University. When Auburn won, this angered that man so much he concocted a pesticide which could kill any living plant. Still drunk, he drove to Auburn university and stepped into the Auburn garden which was famous for it's 200 year old oak trees and the beauty of the flowers. The man sprayed pesticide on EVERY plant in the garden! The next morning, every student at Auburn mourned over their beloved garden which was now just srivled up gray mass. The man BRAGGED about it over a public radio and was arrested and sentenced to prison for life. These trees have been replaced and will take another 200 years to regrow.
I feel this is the saddest story I have ever heard. Please never become too emotionally attached to a team or anything that has potential to disappoint you.
