Luigi's Mansion a game that came out in 2001 on the Nintendo GameCube's launch and pleased the Man in red's side kick fans for a matter a fact he was left in the dust and treated as less of a side kick. This game has pleased many and has left me with memories as my first GameCube game and my favorite Luigi game due to there were only 2 and the first one was horrendous. This game was the one of the first to be re released for Players Choice.
On my birthday July 22, 2002 I was giddy with joy discovering I have received a GameCube which came with Luigi's Mansion of course it was my birthday which is the equivalent of Christmas day. When I got the game I unfortunately did not have a Memory card so I had remembered the first sector of the game my heart and easily can play the game without having to look at the GameCube controller like I ever done that. Once I received a memory card from my dad I soon passes by the first sector in about 30 minutes, later on I began to play at night and used to hum the same tune as Luigi as I was shivering as for the air conditioner in the room is pumping constantly. When I played the game heavily I often got scared once the 3rd part of the game quickly arose, darkness in a dark room frightening me and easily made me turn on the lights. Still on this part of the game I kept my Luigi's Mansion game lying in the case while I played Super Mario Sunshine for I was extremely terrified, it took many weeks for me to finally pick up the game and read the FAQ's on how to activate the lights.
Continuing on with the game I noticed it's cleaver haunted music and figured the boo's in the game go great with it's tone from the 2nd half onward. Gameplay was flawless and added new features later on like shooting fire and ice which left me amazed at what the GameCube can do but this was the beginning, effects like the GameCube controller rumbling was something new to me due to the fact we lost our rumble pack on the N64 controller. At the end facing the final boss was a real challenge for me since I didn't think about everything in a different perspective so I kept on running into the obstacles it was something my cousin envied me for since I could beat Luigi's Mansion and he could not although I couldn't beat Super Mario Sunshine and he could. The final scene in the game was a real tear jerker when Mario and Luigi reunite and Luigi's laughter with tears of joy and Mario's confusion sparking a transition to the ending.
Please share your memories at the bottom!
Me and my Dad worked on this game forever... I remember playing with him while taking turns (he was better, as I was about 7). Then Hurricane Katrina came and destroyed everything. The house, the Gamecube, the game, our memory card... I was incredibly upset... I'm still thinking of buying a new copy of it to play again...
As it turns out, Luigi uses the loot he obtained inside the mansion to buy a home.
If you collect everything, you get a class A mansion, if you collect nothing but the crown, you get a tent.
That main song is catchy.
I remember this game! me and my sister would play it and watch each other play. I remember being scared sometimes though Dx Not sure if it's actually scary or if it's just because I was pretty young, I still remember the baby ghost.. that was creepy.
