Instead of just having to be invited into the group, how about adding in a system where there is..

Free joining: Can join that group without being invited or being accepted in with one click of a button

Group Request: You click a button where it says "Send group request" and the leader has to accept that request

Invite Only: The only way you can join is by recieving an invantation from the leader.

Group messaging sytstem(sends a typed message to all members in the group)

Maybe a group chatroom. Definitly no destroying groups with not enough members. A part of the page to show new groups would be cool. Maybe we could have a "request to join group" button. Next time the leader checks their group, an alert would appear saying _______ wants to join your group! Accept Decline. That's all I can think of.

oh ya and i have something for the whole site too that the whole site surports html where ever you can type

I have multiple ideas.
1) A group Chatroom, only for the members of the group, the Creator of the group would become admin of that chatroom only, allowing him/her to ban from the chatroom.

2) a cleaner member list... this can get to be very long and untidy, also, it laggs the page.

3)A longer Shout box. This allows post to stay up longer before getting removed.

Hope these are some good ideas!

Jack10- Great idea? maybe they should get a alert. example, you want to invite a friend to a game. then after you invite him. he should get the note. then he can be able to play with you. i like the custom idea. we could make our own poll. wallpaper, etc.

Oh, also it would be cool if you could customize the background/font ect.. unless you already can. lol.

And I like the idea of groups having categories. ie: fan club, etc.

Oh, and a list of all the groups.

-Redo the Group Admins-make it so group leaders can MAKE group admins for their group, so there would be a REAL group admin and a different group admin that can only delete posts and such in their group.

-Make Group Awards-for example, for 50, 100, etc, your group could earn badges.

-Make it so groups are more customizable; allow a poll function, custom wallpapers, et cetera.

Those are all my ideas. And for DethDude and BoyForce's ideas about group chatrooms, you guys could just make a chatroom at COMMANDER for your group and link it here.

I was think about making our own chat rooms for our groups. No. I really don't like shout box because, they're not that great when it comes to the NintendoDSi Browser. It's really hard for me to see what i just posted, like on DSiCade.com.

i think an easier way to communicate with each other (whenever someone posts in the shoutbox you get a message) and whenever you are invited you get a message. Oh, a way to ask to join, the admin gets a message saying to let them in or not (its way to hard to join right now)

Since there are a lot of gaming groups, I think there should be a scheduling system similar to Steam's.

For example, the group leader/admins can schedule an event, then allmembers recieve a message and a pop-up alert saying "[host] has [started/planned] an event" or something along those lines...

But Chats may overload the server. THINK.

I think you should be able to assign special "admins" to help maintain the group. You should also have separate discussion pages within the group. The last thing should be to make it where people can "add group", and then an "admin" of the group can confirm it (it is too hard inviting people).

I think this is what groups should be like:

Have a group banner, logo. Something to represent the team with a painting. Maybe a mini background on how the group was made. Have a schedule for any group meetings or events and let it show up in your alerts.

I think having a savii represent your group would be cool, and I love the forum idea, like the discussion boards on facebook pages/groups. But the shoutbox could ALSO be used just for quick little comments maybe.

I also think there should be some way to look through or search for groups, because how are ou suppost to find them :p And there should be a join or resquest to join button so people can join instead of/as well as you sending them a request to join.

This is a question that's.. Gonna be hard if you attempt it.

What if the top 20 groups (or more) had group "admins" or "group helpers" And only the owner can promote, and if they had ranks (Rank1, 2, 3, 4..so on). Also, they can delete/ban members and delete comments, but not edit the description. Except that rank 1 helpers can only report, 2 and 3 can delete comments, 4 can ban, and 5 can delete members. I really don't think this is possible, but it's worth a shot.

Um for the groups it would be nice if we were able to edit the groups and have anyone be able to join without discrimination. Also if there could be like groups for saviis where you could sort out the saviis into different groups so if you want to look at a curtain type of savii then you would select something like the vampire album or the zelda ablum.
Also being able to have alerts for everytime a group is updated for like recent posts on the group board.

And an idea for saviis
it would be cool to have a request board for saviis so that people who have more savii points could make saviis for others and use the board to set up private bids for the trading of the saviis....

To clear all this mess up:
Just make it so that your alerts can be snet to your 3Ds like how you send Special Twiits to members Wii's.

Well, we don't know for sure if the 3DS can listen to music through the internet browser or watch videos yet.

i say group page updates that send you a message whenever an update on the page has occured,such as new members,description changes,and picture uploads.that way the users in the group stay up-to-date on group activities rather than drifting in and out of existance as a member

Personal chats probably won't be implemented. This would make the public chats nearly pointless so i guess you don't have to ask..

This is why i suggested a Mini Forum instead of personal chat, a place where members and leaders can leave posts, schedule events and communicate. Everything with notifications in chats and pop-up alerts, also email alerts..etc...

My concept is on the bottom, feel free to read and comment about it.

The idea of alerts while browsing, alerts while chatting and email alerts fo important notifications is for making groups more visible, because i honestly don't use groups too much actually...

With the 3DS and if HB updates groups in a way they can hold multiple events and easy communication between that little community of members they will become one of the most popular Apps here.

This is why i also suggested the "functional shoutbox" that can be displayed on the homepage and chatroom menu, where you can choose between general mail alert (if you are leader/2ndvice of that goup)/chatroom alert/shoutbox (if you have permission to do so, on that group and if the group is promoted to support these posts) post and the group you'll send that post, making it easy to member to make posts on the group when they are browsing or chatting.

My idea of internal member rankings consists in a system where the leader will control its members and allowed members can cooperate with this work.

The idea of blocking features in new groups is to void spam and useless stuff on the database, group admins can "level up" groups, in 3 levels. the full idea is in the bottom.

Maybe be able to search for groups, but be able to choose how to search. For example I'd search for "dsi" and I'd be able to choose whether I want to find them by the size of the group (search results in order from largest to smallest), the date it was made, etc. Or the creator of the group can pick certain members of the group to pass out invitations also, so members the creator don't know can be invited too

Maybe you could also send a message to every group member at once for events, updates, etc. If spammed there will be punishments.

Personally, I like the ol' Shout Box formula... But, we're here for new ideas, so... I have none. I do like AOD's, however.

Submtting a form to the group, a small functional shoutbox in the chatroom menu and main page where we can choose (leaders, vice, vice2nd) Like this:

Group admins can do everything the leader can despite the group being content locked/unlocked from the outside public.

It would be better if only "featured" "special" groups have the full features i listed, featured by group admins, for saving space in the database and avoid innactive groups with all these features....

I may have some more Ideas later, but this is what I have now.

1. We really need to notify users when they get a group invitation. Either by mail or in the alerts, it would have to stay in the alerts for at least 1-2 days.

2. It would be great if you could promote and demote trustful users to help you with certain aspects of the group.

3. There could be a leader board where you put your best members and helpers.

4. There has got to be a way of viewing members of the group without taking up so much space. I have a group with lots of users, but a have to scroll down so far to the shoutbox and everything else.

5. It would be majorly helpful if you could add an easy member count so you know how many members are in the group. I don't know where to put it, but I'm sure you can think of an ideal spot. This is because I'll try to count them, but I'll loose track or not even know if I counted right, just hope.

I'll post back here later if there's anything else I think of.

We need a search button, right now if your not on the top list of groups, no one will see it.

Also, many groups try to run a competition every once in a while, so why not add a customizable schedule? It would help in the organization of the group.

Maybe there should be a "New groups." list so newer groups won't be so ignored.

We could categorize groups in different subjects, like "Gaming", "Misc", etc.

That's all my ideas for now.

Um... I think a private chatroom would be nice in a Group.

How about a message so when you invite someone it says "Invite successfully sent" so you would know if it was sent.
