ok, this new set of blogs entitled CS teaches how to do some pretty basic but really cool stuff. This particular one is all about making a lock pick. It doesn't teach how to use it, that will be my next blog.
1.allen wrench- go for the smallest one you can, as it needs to fit in the keyway. if you have a file or grinder you can get one that is too big and just grind/file it to fit.
2.screwdriver- again, go for the smallest one you can. this cannot be ground down, and must be a plus head or you will damage the lock. i find jewellers screwdrivers effective, but go for one with enough reach.
3.paper clip- get a very strong one, and bend it completely straight. twist about 3/5 mm up at one end in a right angle. if the other end is sharp, it is best practice to file it down smooth so you do not hurt yourself.
4.straight pin- this is not recommended. you will need a long one (2.5/3 inches) and will need to file down the sharp end.
5.staple- avoid this if you can help it. you will need a very strong one and need to bend one end straight and leave the other end bent.
okay, i hope this has been insightful. you may need to use this one day to escape from a hostage situation, or if you accidentally lock yourself out of your house.
