Yeah, by the title, I know what you're thinking. “Oh my gosh, another blog about animal abuse?! Seriously?!” Hold on a second though, this is a very serious problem.
Monday, I saw a stray cat in pain because spurs were stuck to it's fur and poking it, causing it to bleed because it was laying down and trying to rub them off. Instinctivly, I picked about twenty spurs from it's fur, because it was very depressing to see it cause it's own pain. I had a lot of blood and such on my hands, so I went inside to wash off my hands. The cat waited on the porch for me. After I washed my hands, I took the cat in and gave it a bath, cleaned the cuts and bandaged them, and brushed out it's fur. The poor thing is staying with me now.
We could all take a lesson from this. This cat was neglected and left outside to die. I don't understand how someone could do this to such a cute animal. Sure, it wasn't physically harming it, but they could have at the very least put it in a shelter, knowing it would find a good home. Why would I help out something that's not my responsibility? I care, that's why.
I forgot to mention the dead dogs that my neighbors kept in their yard, frozen to death. Don't worry, though, they're in big trouble.
It's a terrible thought, but it happens every day. Why don't we all help out? Volunteer at a shelter, find homes for strays, help out an injured animal. That's all I ask of you. My experiences have shown me the ugliness of the world. Animals are sweet things, they have feelings too, right? Right. Stop animal abuse, it's not a win!!
I also agree with you that people should stop animal abuse. Animals have feelings to you know. That is why I might be a veternarion (I think i spelled it wrong) who helps animals.
It just makes me sad that such cruel people would do such a thing to such a harmless little cat. What really makes me sad is that no one didn't seem to care about it, but you helped from almost...death, and that makes me really happy. I really like cats a dogs really cute, tiny, fluffy dogs and it makes me cry just to think whatt people are doing to animals these days. Some people may even kill animals. Sure, some may bite and kill but they have feelings too you know, how would you like if you were an animal cute or fierce and someone abused you? Well for one thing, I would not like it...that's all I have to say.
My neighbour always ties his miniature schnauzer [sp?] dog on his back deck, on like a 2 foot rope, in the middle of the winter, and in the middle of the summer with no water or shade all day. We tried calling the spca and other places but nobody cares though. We gave it water once when he wasn't home, in a bin, and the frst thing it did was put it's paws in the water because it was so hot, poor thing.
