We`ve all felt as if we were greedy before. Whether it was taking a little more dinner than expected or just being called it by one of your friends. It is ok to be allittle greedy sometimes. But it becomes a sin when that person becomes consumed with greed. When I think of the word greed, I think about such words as: take, selfish, ect. But that is only half true, greed is a sin because it is a desire to take more than one needs or deserves. But in pursuit of these things they ignore important aspects of life(religion, sharing, love, ect.). These are cases that especially have to do with things like wealth and power.I agree with greed being a sin because It is ok to desire these things and be rich and successful but noone needs to much of anything. Our U.S economy is pretty much the same thing: Higher class pay the taxes while lower class consume these taxes(welfare, ect.) We should all be able to be content with what we already have.PEACE.
Greed, in many cases, can go hand-in-hand with pride for politicians. An individual feels that he or she knows better than everyone else, so that person tries to usurp power to redistribute wealth and buy votes.
Alternatively, a compulsive gambler can be overtaken be greed. This isn't greed of the physical but greed of the potential... just one more roll of the die or pull of the slot machine, and the winnings will come. Compulsive gamblers focus on nothing else in life but that possibility of winning the jackpot, so family, work, and life, take a back seat.
