Hello guys, Smalls here with a response/rant on a recent issue I have had.
DSiTabs2, myWorldnet, and many other sites were all terminated by my webhost. Yes, terminated. Guess what? I've lost all of my backups.
Let me explain. I woke up this afternoon getting ready to do work to myWorldnet, but I was in dismay after I saw the dreaded 404 screen with 000webhosts. I was curious as to why I couldn't do anything, so I tried logging in.
I was in total shock, because:
1. I have no backups. Due to a recent hard drive wipe.
2. I can't get MY code that I have spent hours and hours on.
This prompted me to finally finalize the web server I was working on, but what's a web server without a website. After I finalized the server and got it connected to the DSiTabs domain, I found out more details as to why my account was terminated.
A total shocker. I have lost everything because someone said I had a chatroom script on myWorldnet. Excuse me... What chatroom script? All scripts are sent requests, not receive. Whoever this Strike2 person is... You sir have angered a web developer. Not only that, I'm using this picture you posted as evidence on the support ticket I filed two hours ago. I now have a backup of the file and I have your email (Good job leaving your username in there).
I don't take to kindly to false reports, since it make me lose hours of my life that have now been wasted. I am not happy; however, I applaud you in a way.
How do I applaud you? Well... I've set up my own web server in response to this incident, so I don't have to deal with that crap again. That doesn't make you smart or makes me forgive you in any way.
So Mr. Strike2, if you have a website... Let me know, I will report it so you lose everything, but I won't do that because I'm too nice.
@Hull - Actually, they deleted them. I was pretty upset when I received an answer from them. They said that any termination automatically removes the files.
smalls, don't they legally have to keep all files for some duration of time for their past clients? I would think you could recover what you don't have by requesting a trouble ticket with them.
Smalls is cool like that.
And this just even makes me hate 000web EVEN MORE!
First off, they got lame PHP setting bull. -_-''
And it takes two DAYS to just setup a bloody Query on it..
That's a huge bummer, smalls. I used to go to DSiTabs. It must be really tough to lose so much programming and the time it took. Sorry to hear about it.
