For some odd reason, you want to stay inside and continue to watch TV. You hear a lot of commotion and quiet chattering outside. A few times you contemplated going outside and exploring a bit, but now you’ve been sitting for so long it seemed too hard to get up. You suddenly feel a wave of disgust of yourself. You didn’t need to waste your life away, you can do whatever you want, its summer vacation for crying out loud! Savor the moments that you’re not in school. You get up, unplug the TV and start walking away. Half-way to the stairs, the power goes out. You can’t see anything except some small rays of light from a window above the couch. The window’s blinds are closed so if you want more light you’re going to have to go over there. Oh great another reason to go back to the TV. You stand on the couch and right when you touch the window’s blinds to open them, the TV turns on. You are startled and quickly turn around and look at the TV. It’s just static nothing to worry about. The combination of the sound of static and the dim light make you antsy so you turn back to the blinds. Before you open them you remembered, the TV is still unplugged. You hesitantly turn your head back to the TV…still just static. There’s nothing to worry about. If that were true this wouldn’t be a very exciting story would it. Something started to form on the TV screen, first, 2 dark static eyes and then a sharp, uneven mouth. That face was all that appeared. It was ominous but not scary. You decide to get a closer look at the symbol. You touch the screen in wonderment and you get a small shock of static. At this point you’re really jumpy so you quickly recoil but then touch the screen again. Suddenly, the face’s mouth opens wider and you get a high-voltage shock and pass out. You wake up, your body feeling very sore and tingly from the shock, all you can see for miles is a flat field. You scout the horizon for anything that isn’t grass. Towards a sunset you see a thing shining in the distance.
