Call of Duty Black Ops was released in 2010 and later on with in the February/March period Treyarch launched their first map pack for Black Ops called "First Strike" it featured five maps four consisting of multiplayer maps and one zombie map. Leaked from an Australian retailer says Treyarch is now releasing a new map to the masses called "Escalation" this map pack will also showcase five maps with four multiplayer maps and one zombie map and will be heading to the Xbox 360 May 3rd 2010.
Escalation's five maps include Hotel, Zoo, Convoy, Stockpile, and Survive. With the close release date it has others thinking that with the anger of many people disliking Black Ops Treyarch is trying to settle people down with more content. With Treyarch's other game "Call of Duty World at War" they have released four map packs, the game has had the same clamor as Black Ops but World at War has had more negative remarks than Black Ops.
Hotel before the Launch of Call of Duty Black Ops was going to be featured in the game right from the start in the multiplayer mode. Treyarch decided to keep it out of the game but they did left crucial thing, the data. The games data was discovered upon in the disc along with other maps that were scrapped and or used later in First Strike. Seemingly Hotel was scrapped late in development meaning loading screen map and vote icons have been generated for the game's main assortment of maps. Ready up for more maps on May 3rd for Xbox Live.

Hmm... interesting. I'm gonna look for more information online. These are some maps that didn't appear or were added for First Strike or became a Zombie map:
Pentagon (Became Five)
Berlin Wall (Added in First Strike)
Underwater (I forgot it's real name. Scrapped most probably because of some killstreaks being impossible to use underwater, such as a Chopper Gunner)
And other maps that are in the game were originally going to be scrapped . Also, Ascension was going to be included with the game instead of coming with the First Strike Map Pack.
