"It was fun having Alex stay with us," said Grayson.
"I agree," said Jarrett.
Carmen began to talk. "Did you know that Alex has a sister my age?"
"No..." replied Grayson. "Why?"
"He told me about her. Her name is Grace."
"Sounds like Grayson," Jarrett said.
Wednesday morning Drew was in his house. He decided to call Alex from his home phone. He waited for Alex to answer.
Alex was tired. "Hi..."
"Hello," Drew replied. "Where were you for the last two days?"
"At a town. Grace had a special event that I had to attend." Alex clearly knew that he was lying.
"Oh. How was that like?"
"Boring, obviously."
"See ya at school. Bye." Then Drew hung up.
Alex got his stuff ready for school. He was going to see his friends Luke and Drew again. He thought staying at the MacKruthes' was fun.
"Carmen!"
"Yes, Grayson?"
"If Alex had a brother, then he'd be friends with Jarrett!"
Carmen slowly nodded her head in agreement. "That's true..."
Luke, Drew, and Alex were in class.
"Alex!" Luke called out. "Why did you leave us?"
"It was my sister's fault..."
Luke pounded his hand on the table in front of him. "Yeah, right! Now you have a lot of work to do!"
Drew stood up from his chair. "Excuse me, I have to call someone important!" He rushed to the phone on the teacher's desk and dialed a number.
"Luke & Alex!" exclaimed the teacher. "Don't be loud!"
Luke had a big smile on his face. "But... we're friends, right Alex?"
There was silence for three seconds. Finally, Alex replied. "Uh... yeah."
When Drew was done with the phone he went back to Luke and Alex. "Hey, what happened?"
Luke turned to Drew. "The teacher thought we got into some random argument and--"
"Said we were too loud." Alex finished his sentence.
That's how it all went when you have Luke, Drew, and Alex in the same room.
