Hey everyone, this is the third installment of my favorite roller coasters, this time featuring:
MEDUSA
The first Floorless Roller Coaster on the West Coast!
Opened: 2001
Location: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (Formerly known as Marine World) I'm Vallejo, California.
Medusa is a Floorless roller coaster, but what does that exactly mean?
After the train is fully loaded with passengers and all the restrains have been locked, the floor you were standing on moments before, drops away! The actual train has no floor!
The ride features a massive 150 foot lift hill, a top speed over 50 miles per hour, adn a MASSIVE 120 Foot Loop!
The coaster was one of three large Floorless coasters built from 1999-2001
1999: Kraken (Sea World Orlando)
2000: Bizarro (Six Flags Great Adventure)
2001: Medusa
The ride is very smooth and features other elements like a dive loop, a zero G roll, a one of a kind "sea serpent" double inversion, and two corkscrews.
The ri itself is very smooth, and easily re-riddance to even the most motion sickness of guests. the ride is engineered so that your heart, is always centered in each car, meaning, there are no extreme Gs acting on you like in some othernroller coasters.
The roller coaster is the largest attraction at Discovery Kingdom, and I hope to see it running for many more years to come!
I can't wait for your next blog. I always love Looking at videos and love to research one of these fun rides. I can only go to places like Disney Land, Busch Gardens and Sea World. I live in FL. Great work with this blog. I'll be waiting for your next blog.
