Drei was still walking away from the hospital when it occoured to him that the boy he just met was indeed someone he had known, but who exactly? That was the question. He wondered where he was or if he was okay.
Meanwhile, Xast indeed wasn't. “I told you, I have no clue who you are or why you abruptly stepped in front of me and dragged me into this alley, so release my arm now!!” he shrieked at the bum standing in front of him. “You owe me money!!” yelled the bum right back. “And if I don't get it now, I'll need other means of payment!!” He pushed Xast's head straight into a brick wall. Xast fell to the ground, unconsience. The bum, who was clearly drunk, ran. It was midnight. Easter. This is not exactly how Xast expected his holiday to be. He wanted to be with Drei, sharing hollow chocolate bunnies and jelly beans. He groaned and picked himself up after regaining consienceness and walked away. Without his Scythe, he was basically powerless.
He walked back out onto a main street where only every seven minutes or so, a car would pass. That was about it. He spotted a bench and sat down. He watched the street light flicker from red to yellow to green. How he missed the old days when everyone remembered him. The moon was full and omnimous. His rump was cold from the bench which had recently been rained on. His purple eyes gleamed in the moonlight. He hoped a car would stray from the street and kill him now. There was barely any reason to continue pushing on. The only reason was Drei. That's why he never gave up. He lied down. His eyelids felt heavy. Then, he drifted off to sleep with thoughts of a new day.
