No, it's not about the eggs.
It's not about stuffed animals.
It's not about gifts.
These things are not what Easter is truly about.
This is what Easter is all about.
Easter dates back to moses and egypt. You ever watched the prince of egypt? its based on what i'm about to tell you.
The Lord tells Moses that all his people will be released, and that they are to feast for the celebration.
As Moses attemps to release his peeople and the Lord brings hell to the people of Egypt, he then tells Moses that he himself will come down to earth and take the life from the first born child of all of Egypt. As a safety, The jewish community will sacrifice a lamb abd spread the paint over a door, thus protecting that family.
During this traditional feast, for the jews they recite multiple prayers and everything has a meaning. The one thing in particular that has a meaning into easter is a hard boiled egg. the egg represents a new life, a new begining. which is what happened for the jews after being released from Egypt.
Easter is a branch off from Passover. We celebrate Easter because it too, is a new begining.
Easter is when Jesus sacrificed his life for us, for your sins. to give us a new life. Eggs, are the symbole of a new beginning.
Why is it made of Chocolate?
It's just to please the kids, make a bit of religion fun. And chocolate and gifts have been a tradition for many years.
So this easter, when you are eating your egg, think about jesus, his sacrifice, and the new beginning he gave to you.
I apologise if i am wrong. i believe that i am pretty accurate as my Religion teacher had us do a passover meal.
I agree with neon, but as christian we think out it as close to the Jesus was born. All Im sayonng is If it aint in a book calle Holy Bible (Basic Instruction before Leaving Earth) Its WRONG. Because our caranal minds can't get over the fact that that theres something greater than earth. And can't get indepth with God. Good bless you all,and Im out.
i agree even though i didnt read the whole thing but ik all of it cuz im christian and its isnt about gifts and chocolate and stuff im at my moms and i didnt get as much as my friends but i was happy cuz i was with my mom
Just to let you know this has nothing to do with mosses or egyptions its about lord jesus crist and the reserection of god so basicly you are thinking of the ten cammandments is not about mosses smart one And I am catholoc so I know
I'm a christian. But I don't think Moses or Egypt hasn't have to do anything about the 30th of April. Jesus died on the cross on Friday April 22nd. He went to heaven on Sunday. I might need to see a crazy christian and ask him about this. But thanks for sharing.
Good blog! I'm a Christian, but i don't celebrate Easter because (from research) i found out it was actually ancient pagan holiday dedicated to a goddess fertility named Astarte (Chaldean) or Ishtar (Assyrian) that the Church accepted (to let pagans become members) years after all the apostles died. They just changed it a little making it to celebrate Jesus' resurection. Eggs and rabbits were symbols of fertility to the pagans. Also, the Bible doesn't even mention the first Christains celebrating it so it adds more evidence to what i wrote above. I just say this because it's what i beileve, not to cause any fights. I still think this is a good blog!
Had to delete a few comments here. Some people have no respect for religions.
I think the author is brilliant. Keeping our suffering religion alive. The only religion that was ever fought for, and the only religion that gives us free will. And this religion will always live on, no matter how much it is slandered and disrespected.
Normally, I'm all for opinions, but since this is a special blog for a special day, it is to be respected. I will delete any comments that violate this simple rule.
