Well guys, the release of Pokemon Black and White aroused a lot of questions. For those of you who have no action replay and EV trained in the 4th generation games. You might remember how annoying it was to re-battle the same Pokemon in an area where finding it was only a 30% chance. The action replay users had it easy because they could cheat using the wild Pokemon modifier... But, that's another blog. Anyway, what I'm trying to get to is, in Black and White it is easy as hell.
Out of the 6 stats you can EV train for 3 of them are pokemon you can battle without having to worry about running into another pokemon. For those of you who have read my blogs in the past, and know how I do my stuff, you would know I battle pokemon that give 2 Effort points for stats. This is because I have a sure-fire way to EV train for 252 Effort points easily. I won't explain the math because that would take another blog, however I will explain what you do.
Stunfisk - 2 EP for HP (found on route 8 Surf 100% encounter rate)
Basculin - EP for Speed (found on route 1 Surf 100% encounter rate)
Claydol - 2 EP for SpD (found in relic castle Walk (Room where you catch Volcarona) 100% encounter rate)
Krokorok - 2 EP for Attack (found in relic castle B2F Walk 50% encounter rate)
Cof@grigus - 2 EP for Defense (found in relic castle B2F Walk 50% encounter rate)
Heatmor - 2 EP for SpA (found on Victory road outside Walk 45% encounter rate)
Want to max out speed? Give the Pokemon you are training a macho brace. Infect the Pokemon you are training with PKRS. Give the pokemon you are training 10 Carbos for Speed. Battle 19 Basculin. Then you are done EV training Speed. Now keep in mind the vitamins vary depending on the stat you want to raise. Carbos is only for speed, and the Basculin are only for speed.
Works for any stat, assuming you are battling the correct Pokemon listed above and have given the right vitamins.
You might be wondering how you can get enough money to buy the stuff, I ran into this problem too. Just go to Driftveil Drawbridge and run around until you have a whole bunch of wings. The wings can be sold for 1500 a piece. If you bought the luck incense, you could also go and sweep the Elite 4. Both these ways will get you a lot of money.
This is the easiest way to EV train in the 5th gen in my opinion, hope you found this useful. Comment with your thoughts.
Macho brace and PKRS both multiply the EP earned by 2.
Battling a pokemon that gives 2 EP while holding macho brace and infected with PKRS gives 8 EP after battle.
I say battle pokemon that give 2 EP because they are more common than most pokemon that give 3.
PLUS, it is possible to perfectly calculate how many EPs are needed when you go by 8s rather than being a dumbass and battling any and all pokemon you see.
isnt their a limit on the amount of ep a pokemon can get? i think i read that somewhere. i also read there is a berry that il lower ur ep. forgot wat it was tho
