Every culture, every nation, every people, have stories of the same creature...the dragon. Now, it's strange how stories of dragons are not just local, but worldwide. This is more than just a coincidence. From stories of the thunder bird in north america, to tales of flying dragons in central asia, dragons are everywhere. Now lets look at some logical explanations...First of all, it could be mistaken identity of an animal, such as crocodiles and lizards. But these animals were well known and not legendary. There is a lizard in asia that can glide, this is where stories of flying dragons come from, right? Surely thousands of human beings are frightened by one small lizard. This sounds silly, doesn't it? And there are comets, which people thought could be dragons, but comets were recorded by ancient astronomers and are well known, so that notion can be crossed out. Now let's look at one more explanation...dinosaurs. The word "dinosaur" wasn't coined until the 1800's, so what did people call them before that? Dragons. Lets look at some facts, dragon stories are worldwide, so were dinosaurs. But dinosaurs lived over 65 million years ago, right? But that's is only if you are looking at it from an evolutionary view point. And dinosaurs bones don't have dates on them, and the dating techniques scientists use are inaccurate (I'll talk more about this in pt.2 or 3). Now, don't tell me that dragons looking like dinosaurs is just a coincidence, the evidence is too conclusive for that. Actually, until the 19th century, dragons were recorded in natural history books as "actual animals". When Marco Polo visited China he said that "the emperor would raise dragons to pull his chariot in parades". Any other accounts of dinosaurs living among humans? Here's one. In the south american country of Peru are stones with carvings on them, they are called the "ica stones" (look them up). And on them there are depictions of men riding and hunting dinosaurs. Woah.
Sorry to burst you bubble, but if you sent a piece of dinosaur bone to three different labs, each one would give you a date many million years apart. And neanderthal man is proven to just be an old man suffering from a bone diesese.
ur theory is flaud. Although it is true that carbon dating can be incorrect, but still fairly close, within 1-3 million years. carbon dating has put the time dinosaurs died out 200-300 million years before the first neanderthol (sorry if that's spelt wrong), or primitve human. sorry to burst your bubble, but dragons were most likely NOT dinosaurs, at least not on an evolutionary scale, meaning not the dinosaur "relatives" we now know today, such as crocodiles.
i was just thinking, imagine the dragon is a type of dinosaur. meteor comes and wipes out dinosaurs. but surely, 1 meteor couldnt kill ALL the dinosaurs? some dragons survive with crocs an cockroaches. Dragons get slayed by humans ( st.george, etc.). if this was true then it could explain nessie and other monsters.
