In Commanders "Open Minded" blog HullBreach stated, "If you look at examples like this "but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matthew 5:2, you will see that all forms of lust are sinful, straight or gay. ("Bi" is not an orientation, just a cry for attention.) If you fornicate or view pornography, you are sinning on the same level. It's a struggle to live a Holy life when we are bombarded by vulgar images on a daily basis. I don't personally know one person who has not fallen short at one time. It's that imperfection that makes us human. Don't just accept that fact and leave it there. Try to live as Jesus would, and your life will be much more fulfilling."[line[ My thought is How in the world do you know what other people, other then yourself are felling...People don't choose to be bullied or called names because of there sexual orientation. I personally have to go to school everyday just to be called a Fa_ or A Queer. I went through my mom telling me that she hated me just because she "THOUGHT" I was gay! Your comment hurt me very much HullBreach. My question us how do people decide if there straight. No one asks to be teased everyday.I'm so done with the Drama surrounding gays. You don't have to Like that we're gay but you HAVE to respect us.Feel free to respond. Negative comments will be deleted.
In the Bible it does state the wrongness of homosexuality, but who are we to judge only God can judge, and it also says that in the Bible. Me personally I am a Christian but I don't see a problem if you care about someone you deserve to be with them.
im straight, but i dont have a problem with people being gay. And i really dont know how someones personal life has anything to do with what kind of person they are.
People Shouldn't Judge Were All Human...I Think...(jk) But Seriously, Judgment Is Just Wrong. I Have A Friend Thats Gay, I Don't Really Care, Some People Hide It Becuse Of Judgement. People Should Open Up Alot More....
Wow, I feel your pain. I'm gay and I have put up with crap to. At least my parents aren't overly religous and don't hate me. But my grandparents don't know, and if they did, they would probably hate me for it. And I live with them to. It sometimes gets ultra awkward around them. A "normal" person couldn't even tell I'm gay, even though I'm pretty much open about it. I also live in Georgia, a.k.a Conservative land. One thing that annoys me to death is those people that think all gays are the same. That's all I have to say. Thanks for the awesome blog.
Random, It's people like you who created the Ku Klux Klan because your religion told you that being born anything that is slightly different from you is a monster who deserves to suffer.
Actually, bash and retort have very little in common. Bashing is when you physically flog a person. Retorting is coming up with a witty reply to make your opponent feel wrong.
@Hero: Funny, I use your "retort" you just used on Neon quite a bit. And "bash", "debate", and "argue" mean the same: To challenge a subject or person's place. And I'm not very interested in 'taking a look at my life'. I've lived through 14 years, I've experienced those 14 years. Must I time-travel back somehow and analyze?
Ram - That's a childish excuse. You should respect others opinions and beliefs, and if you are uncapable of that, it's time to take a serious look at your own life.
Neon - I don't bash things. I debate while looking at both sides of the argument, not mindless tearing-down of said opinion or belief.
Wow I fail. xD And well hero I'm sure you've "bashed" things before. And earlier in the comments you said "An opinion is an opinion. Why would you rage at someone who was just giving their thoughts?"
exactly... "bashing" is generally a form of opinion..
@Hero: It's funny, people who don't have experience with something tend to bash it, so why can't someone who has experience with something bash it? Think about it. In Politics, Religion, Orientation, who bashes something? The person who opposes it.
@Korn: Technically, it would not be considered anything, really... I don't think.
@Cody: Approximately how many times is "always", person who chimes in with the majority?
You have the right to bash it? Ram, that is one of the least thought out comments I've heard anyone say in my life. Do I have a right to bash gays? Do I have a right to bash atheism? Do I have a right to bash your views on life and religion? No. And why would I? It would only end up hurting someone. Think about someone other than yourself.
Okay I will answer actually, 1. I said it's not your opinion, it's the old men who wrote the bible's opinion. I don't care if you're too shallow to just agree with an ancient book instead of making your own opinion. 2. What does this have to do with history books? 3. Atheist*
@neon: so you can't AGREE with a book? If that's what you're saying is, all history books should beno longer in use, we make up our own history. Yes, the Bible TEACHES you. I know you're an athiest, but please don't bash the Bible just because people agree with it.
Oh and another thing. It's pretty sad when you need a book to think for you, because anybody who is religious here, and saying "sorry, gays are abominations and I don't like them, it's just my opinion" Sorry, but no it's not. It's the Bible's (or whatever holy book you use) opinion. Go make your own.
@SBP: I love how you start off saying things in a fact-like way, telling us what you are saying is true. Then you say at the end it's your oppinion :s And doesn't it say in the Bible "love thy neighbour" and don't judge others.
"I would rather be cool with lesbians than see my same sex paired together" TYPICAL MAN. But whatever, you'll never get 'em.
hypocrites.
See how much less hate would be in the world if everybody was an atheist?
I really don't mind. Two of my mom's best friends are lesbians. And one has a child. It doesn't bother her. She knows she has two moms and she likes it. I honestly don't mind. I refuse to use, " That's so gay." Although all my friends are against gay people, i'm not. My veiw is, god made you, why would he hate you?
@SBP: And, there's the [even more] biased part: You'd be fine with Lesbians, who are two gay women, but not two gay men. Ever notice that most Christian males are fine with that? I'm sorry, but I couldn't "brush that off".
Actually, in the New Testament in the bible, it tells us over and over that homosexual spirits are an abomination and shall not teary in his sight or in the kingdom of heaven. So basically, if you're gay you aren't living a holy life.
And another thing, the way I see it, there's no such thing as bi. If you like the same sex just a little, it doesn't matter; you're a homosexual being. Please don't take this offensive, it's just an opinion. However, Im sure other people agree to my statement above.
In my eyes, honestly, I detest homosexuals. However, I would rather be cool with lesbians than see my same sex paired together. Again, dont take this the wrong way, its just my opinion.
People have a way of thinking. Like it or not, it is THEIR opinion... Sometimes we just have to Man up, and get real say "Whatever". xD
I'm with you, bro. Well put, Jake. Show em' how we do this
I think Hull's comment has been taken and twisted out of context. I mean, he was giving his opinion. An opinion is an opinion. Why would you rage at someone who was just giving their thoughts?
In fact, I agree with his comment, for the most part. From what I've seen (on this site, at least), most people who label themselves as "bi" have just been craving attention. While I am not saying this is the case for everyone, it is quite common. Don't take this as offence, as it is not meant to offend. Just giving me opinion.
I agree with you Jake. As a lesbian myself I can honestly say I didn't CHOOSE to be this way. It just happens. I don't choose to be of a set of people that are teased, ridiculed, harassed, & sometimes even physically hurt & KILLED because of who we are. I'm proud I'm a lesbian, not because I like being an outsider, but because it's something I have to live with & accept.
I've read the "Open Minded" blog with comments and now this one. I think this is just really people over reacting and reading between the lines. There was nothing hateful that HB said in his open minded comment in the open minded blog.
People will say things and do things all the time that just need to be brushed off. If someone makes fun of you, just turn the other cheek. I used to actually care about what people said or thought of me, but then I realized you can't get anywhere worrying so much. The only thing that matters is what you think! If you stew over small things like someone's opinion, how are you going to handle your boss pressuring you to get assignments done or being stuck in a traffic jam?
If I remember from reading the Bible years ago, there was something about the city of Sodom, and how it was sinful... That had to be around 5 years ago, though.
In my belief, and to what Hull said... In Christianity, I don't believe it's "wrong" to be gay. I have done my research through the Bible and haven't really found anything in the Bible that says no.
I could be wrong. We all have different interpretations of the Bible.
The scripture Hull posted was merely stating that all "lust" is sin. No matter if you are straight or gay.
Wow. Great blog. My view on this is that gay or straight Jesus loves you. I don't think he cares whether you like men or women, as long as you live a holy life. In heaven, you don't get married or have children. Heaven is eternal peace.
Guys, why are we even redirecting a negative view on a comment that was made? It again is someone's thought about this matter, even if this might be hurtful for others, the last thing to do is to comeback to it like this.
"I apologize for saying that all forms of lust - straight or gay - are viewed negatively by Jesus. I will try to single out more subsets of humanity next time instead of covering us en masse.
I'm confused. "
LOLOL nice imitation of a teenager. ;D
Tbh, I don't think this was totally necessary and could be a comment on Charlie's blog but hey, not my problem.
Wow, not many comments. Or did they get deleted? I want to make my own comment but.. I'm confused aswell.
Bisexual, gay, straight.. being one of these forms of "lust" are human decisions. Many think they could be sins for they are decisions that look different than many people's oh-so-perfect philosophy of only loving the different sex. This we can't avoid, such as the many imperfection we people now live in. It could be endless to discuss about with everyone's different thought about these rights.
Now, my opinion comes as this: If this is the choise you make to live, being either gay/bisexual/straight/..., then make your choise knowing you'll live in this miserable act of your surrounding people. Unless you actually find the respective ones around you, which I'm sure you won't completely in this kind of living, then unwantly accept this as a negative side effect from your decision that makes you exquisite in your own way.
Your blog's mistakes sorta got to me, not really but thats not the point lol
Honestly, your mom is a horrible person if she hated you for being who you are. Let's hope she wasn't thinking straight(I'm not trying to be funny with this lol) when she made that statement.
I apologize for saying that all forms of lust - straight or gay - are viewed negatively by Jesus. I will try to single out more subsets of humanity next time instead of covering us en masse.
