I have been pretty shocked by some of the comment I have received lately on my educational physics blogs. I guess some people are calling me an "Atheist" for believing in the big bang and anti-matter. Hey kiddos, wanna know a secret? The big bang can be PROVEN and so can anti-matter. Pulsars are made of nothing more than anti-matter streams and we can prove this with modern technology. I'm actually kind of shocked by how some of you do not know this O-O It is not anti-religious to understand these things. Stephen Hawking is probably the worlds leading physicist and he is very religious. The universe has not always existed; it is estimated to be about 13.5 billion years old. We have built giant particle accelerators that confirm the big bang theory, on top of that. This is just common knowledge now. Just like people had to accept that the earth is not flat, you have to understand that the universe was created at some time. Cosmic microwave background radiation still exists today. Turn on your T.V. and look at the static, this is proof of the radiation that is still around after the big bang. Your T.V. is picking it up. If you stepped into a physics class right now and tried to argue with that, they would pull out ye olde F! stamp and slap you in the forehead a few times for being a weirdo o-o jeez… gawd… ppl arguing with me >.> make me rant…. Meh… *mumbles* meh…
[end rant]
Anyhow… Keep in mind that the big bang theory does not and cannot explain how the universe was created, but rather how conditions were at the point of expansion and creation. With instruments we have today, we have discovered that the universe is in fact expanding at a constant rate. Galaxies are getting further and further away from us every day. Galaxies are pushed by what we call “dark energyâ€. It is believed that about 75% of the known universe is made up of this. “Dark matterâ€, however, is a force that pulls our galaxies close. It is the anti dark-energy. I will go further into the explanation of dark forces in a later blog though… The universe was once an infinitely hot and dense particle that was as small as the smallest particle. Infinitely small, it contained all of the energy that exists in our universe today. After this point exploded, the energy was released and the laws of our universe began to take shape. A quark soup with some leptons is all that existed at this point. *note* quarks are fundamental particles that are the ingredients in what we call “Hadrons†which are very commonly protons and neutrons (the sub-atomic particles that make up the nuclei of atoms). After millions of years of expanding and cooling, the laws of physics caused these particles to bond and make basic Hydrogen and Helium atoms (this process is further explained in the anti-matter blog). So on and so forth… The universe was created yaaaaaay don’t argue this time -.-‘ or if you do, please bring enough evidence to condemn the entire scientific community. Plz k thx. N00bz…. Garsh :T
1. Jesus, people, I'm in 6th grade and I can understand this better than some of the nitwits who posted comments here...
2. Bravo on the amazing blog . Nice stuff to talk to my science teacher about XD.
3.Religion inter-relates to science in a way some people refuse to see and it makes me so angry that some people are so ignorant that they won't take the proof that we put right in front of thier faces when they cant even give us a tiny bit of proof about thier so called "great creator".
all righty den, dogs werent domestic, until one man did the unmentionable, he caught a male and a female and breed them, i no it sounds bad, but he interbreed the puppies, they do that in packs anyway, over the years, we breed them more, and with evolution, they changed shapes, sizes, markings and all sorts, yes im a nerd, or noob as u call it, but its true.
ok anouther factor, im sorry to burst ur bubbles, but i agree with soul, im not religeous at all, to be honest, i think god is something a kid made up, i want proof god exists, if u catholics no where the cross is, bring up and show us, darwin was a great man, but yes the most unexplainable ?, we come from monkeys, through evolution, but y r they still here, next time ur in ur science class, ask ur teacher dat nd he or she will be baffeled, the big bang is proven, god did not kill the dinosaurs, a comet killed them, theres proof in mexico and noah was real, they found his ark, ark = A Random act of Kindness, he was a crazy old man, simple, if u dont beleive me look it up, or ask a bloody scientist, thank u bye, soul well done mate...
Trolls! Stop, JUST STOP! He kinda implied the "Don't Troll" rule in his rant....When I think of the universe, I think how something INFINITELY large was created, that most likely leads to Gawd! The WORLD, Earth, was made by a bunch of colliding rocks, and formed over Millions of years. Who gave it that power? Probably Gaw! Who put the Atmosphere around earth, protecting us from the sun (Burning Gasses!), Who put life and law into the land? Gawd....Evolution? Simply animals adapting(100s-1000s of years) to their environment, How did they get that power? Gawd.....But gawd didn't do everything...Science is or SHOULD be indirectly connected to religion so theories make sense....now stop trollin...Props to SS!
Wow, I can't scarcely believe people can reject the Big Bang theory. I read in A Breif History of Time that the Catholic Church even adopted the Big Bang theory, if I am not mistaken. what is disagreed on is how the Big Bang came about and what the universe was like (or if it existed) before it. Thus religion CAN co-exist with science.
If you look at the "true religion" blog, I have challenged George for a debate this weekend in there. I think a discussion on the marriage of science and religion would be an interesting, too. Topics could include the Big Bang, evolution, life / death, and whatever else pops up.
Guys, dont argue. Just because we cant prove it, doesnt mean it dont exist. I believe in God, and big bang. There arejust some things beyond human's understanding.
Wow Leo... wow. Fail. I find it ironic that you are forcing the flaws in a "theory" on a person with actual proof and evidence. Its as if you WANT me to argue with you and point out the numerous flaws in your own ideals. This, however, isnt a debate. I was basicly explaining how something works. If your mind cant handle that level of science, then you can go live your own happy life, rotting in ignorance. Thanks. And evolution IS real and the big bang DID happen. You cant go unproving things. Its impossible. Just accept that they are true and figure out how new finding fit into your religion. Just because these things are true does not mean that your religion is false, it just means that you have to look at it in a new light. Suck it up and stop sounding like youre afraid of mankind's discoveries.
SoulSilver, the big bang theory is just that, a theory. Look up theory in the dictionary. And no theory can be proven 100% true. The theory of evolution is said to be true, even though there are many problems with it. The theory of evolution is actually starting to become less of a theory and more of a religion, because those who endorse it rely on blind faith. A scientific theory can only be a theory if it can be observed and repeated. Evolution cannot be observed and cannot be repeated in a lab, therefore it is a religion.
The evidence of intelligent design is every where in nature, if the world were closer to the sun we'ed be on fire, if it were a little farther, we would be icicles. This is one of many, many things that point to an intelligent creator. But george, no matter what I tell you, you will still not believe. It's like telling someone who believes man never walked on the moon that men walked on the moon. Even if you showed that person pictures and moon rocks he still wouldn't belive.
humans can only undersand certain things. Can you think of any colors you have never seen before? Can you think of any other senses that the human body could have? If humans couldn't smell, it would be impossible to think of what an odor is and what smell is.
I can confirm that antimatter does exist, I believe it was CERN who had some. Humans did not evolve from monkeys; what was to become 'us' split off from the monkey 'branch' of the evolutionary tree relatively recently. Evolution is still going on, albeit at a pace so slow we can scarcely notice it.
george, God was always there. He is the first thing ever in existence, before space, before time (which he created). God is infinite. The human mind can only think up to 4 dimensions, when there are actually many dimensions. No human being can understand.
Hmmm >.> i really dont want to arugue with religion... but proof is proof. That is not proof. Just because you cant understand something dosnt mean that its not true =P even in the scopes trial with William Jennings Bryant, the law suit against evolution being taught in schools, the religious viewpoint couldnt even be assumed. I assure you, the universe is not about 4,000 years old. If you want to believe that, then go ahead, but dont say that i'm wrong (because im not) =)
And if you read more about Darwin he wasn't even that smart in school, he wasn't good at math at all. How can we believe him then? Plus if we came from monkeys why are they're still monkeys? And how do we know from Darwin that the Earth is billions and billions years old. Just proving my point again X3
The big bang theory is false, how can all of us come from a little atom. Plus where did this 'atom' come from. God created us and the universe if you read in Genisis [In the Bible] It says God created the Earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th anyways just proving my point =P
Belief are for people who are too mentally challenged to understand how things work. If I had enough time I might enlighten you by telling the entire history of everything, but it would probably be easier for you to read a book or something >.> the big bang theory and evolution has no relation in my blog... That is a different matter entirely. And yes, Darwin was also very religious. Just because new advances in science disprove certain statements in "certain" texts does not mean that it is not true. And it sounds like a 3 year old would be the only person who cant understand these things. Hmmmm lets see... Everything always existed and was always perfect and rainbows and butterflies and unicorns, or, a complex and intricate system of laws take millions and billions of years to cultivate into a very sophisticated system? really. Anyhow... thanks for the props I guess...
