"Nintendo's U.S.-Based servers were attacked several weeks ago but no consumer data was stolen, the company said Sunday. The company is the latest to be targeted by cyber criminals in a hacking attack."
... It seems Nintendo actually ought to have learned sonething from Sony. The fact that Nintendo waited several weeks isn't comforting, but, no damage was done, as was the case with PSN.
Since we have no major network, or pay-per-download system, we were relatively unaffected! The worst part is, we didn't even notice!
Also, it couldn't have been revealed with worse timing, as E3 is tomorrow/today. It may or may not have adverse effects. We'll see...
Now, granted, Nintendo was imminent. It's the oldest and most famous in the industry.[sorry, Atari.] So, it was obvious they'd be hit. But, no effects were felt, due to lack of credit card and other personal info given and required by Ninty-Gamers. So thank you, Nintendo. It seems your pain in the ass Friend Codes saved us... I think.
Tack this on to your list of reasons to not buy a PS3.

It's Nintendo's webserver configuration. Lulzsec posted it to get Nintendo to plug the security holes they found, without telling them what exactly was the issue.
Well, it happened about a month ago, judging by "several weeks". Luckily, since Nintendo is always "Give Money. Download Game. have a good say person.", it figures nothing would've been taken.
Uh, there is a pay-per-download service... the Wii/DSi shop channel. And that Wi-Fi thing on some games... Pay per Play or something? Well, that is basically DLC for Nintendo.
