Taw sat, hand clutching Fawn's, waiting for the third and final Guard to leave the Guard's Office. After the Guard left, there would be a break, then Taw would be able to get inside. Suddenly, like a knife cutting through the butter of silence, the double doors swung open, revealing a Guard. The Guard stepped outside, looked around, then walked off towards Market Street. As soon as the Guard was out of sight, Taw and Fawn stood up and crept up the steps. They opened one of the double doors and crept inside, crawling so that the secretary at the desk could not see them. This was all part of Taw's plan. He knew the secretary was long-sighted - she frequently wore glasses - and so had changed his plan to fit. They crawled on hands and knees up to the desk and crouched in front of it, hearts pounding. This was it. They were in. They crept around the side of the desk and behind the secretary, making no noise as they went. Behind the desk were a pile of boxes - one was marked 'PARCELS'. They opened up the cardboard box, hoping that the secretary wouldn't turn and see them, then took a parcel each. They pushed open the door. It creaked. Taw and Fawn froze. The secretary turned around, only to see a swinging door. 'Those Guards are quick' she mumbled and turned back to her paperwork. Taw and Fawn took a breath behind the door. They walked up to the turning along the corridor. They knew what to do. Fawn would pretend to be a messager and so would Taw. They would each steal a sword and anything good they could find. Then, they would store the stolen items in their bags and leave. If everything went to plan, they would meet at the house.
They nodded at each other and went seperate ways. Almost immediately, Taw was confronted by a large, muscular guard. 'Oi! What're you doin' 'ere?' The guard cried.
'I have a parcel for...' Taw checked the label on the parcel. '... Mr. Attonbion. It's very important.'
'Alright then, off yeh go.'
