Okay, now I've been hearing for a couple of days that--yet again-- users have been having their accounts "hacked" because another website (of which I do not know the URL, and even if I did, I wouldn't post the link to it) told them to log in using their DSiPaint account. This harks back to the widespread siphoning of personal information via emails. Basically, sometimes you may receive an email saying something along the lines of "In order to validate that your credit card information is in order, we need you to log into your account here." (imagine 'here' as a hyperlink). After that person enters their information, they sender of the email now has access to your credit card; OH NOEZ!
People, there will never be a time when another website will be needed to validate your information from another website. Oftentimes these phishing (the term used to describe this act) scams will even create a website that looks legit. You must be vigilant not to fall prey to these. Better yet, you can simply ignore emails like these.
Your accounts are not being hacked people. You're giving these people your information. If you've any doubts as to whether an email, website, or log in form is legit, check around the internet to find out whether said website is authentic before using it.
In regards to this recent account hijacking: Let's have some common sense guys. HullBreach would almost certainly have told us if he created that website.
I've perma-banned around 6 alts this scanner made and reported the phishing website to the FBI. I'm sick of these people stealing identities, so I plan to keep using the full force of the law against them.
For newer members, these are the websites I control which have shared accounts:
That URL has been reported and shut down.
Unless the subdomain is dsipaint, 3dspaint, or any one of Danny's domains, DO NOT put your dsipaint login info.
You really had to have been a retard to fall for this, but still. Watch out for these tricks, and report them to an admin EVEN AT THE SMALLEST SUSPICION!! It's better to be safe than sorry.
my friend dark fate was hacked late last night...along with this fox person...im certain ths is the source, and if this helps- code10110 and hayley00 were advertisting it on twitter. nuff' said.
@ShaDowTecH Oh I was certain that that was the case. It obviously just logs their account information into a database for the owner to peruse when he wants.
