NOTE: This poem is nothing but the truth, I don't share this with many people. It's graphic, but now you know who I am and what I go through.





I'm Not Perfect

People think I have it all.

Just because I'm "pretty"

It doesn't mean I never fall.

I've decided to share this with you,

I'm tired of people's jealousy,

Or how they wish I was the one they can be.

I'm not perfect,

I'm far from it.



My home is chaos.

My mom yells and hurts me,

Just to get her point across.

She calls me a skank, and a mistake

She can never be wrong,

I can never be right.

You wouldn't believe the tears I cry at night.

She has breast cancer,

And her father is dying of lung cancer.

I still pray for them,

I still pray for the answer.



My dad is a drunk.

A dangerous one.

I cry and tell him to stop,

But he just continues on with his "fun."

I wish he would understand,

The amount of pain that bottle is causing,

The one he holds in his hand.

His liver could be fried.

I tell him to see a doctor.

He hasn't been to one in years.

He wouldn't listen,

All I'm good for is crying out all my tears.



I don't sleep much at night.

I have scars on my wrists,

Created because they felt so right.

I wish I had someone here for me always,

Someone who understood my pain.

Helping me live through all my days.

I want to be loved,

I'm scared to die alone.



When I tell people my story,

Some avoid talking to me,

And very few accept me.

I don't tell many people about it,

But now you know my story,

Now you know,

That I'm not perfect.
