In late 2008 Universal announced that they were building a new roller coaster for their park, Universal Studios Florida.
The coaster was to be state of the art and feature onboard audio, and camera to record your ride, which would be available for pruchase afterward. You would be given over 100 song choices to select from.
This coaster was:
HOLLYWOOD
RIP, RIDE ROCKIT
This coaster, built by coaster manufacturer Maurer-Shone, was their biggest creation yet- 168 feet tall, and reaching speeds over 50 miles per hour.
The ride features a host of music inspired moves including:
-The Double Take (a non-inverting loop with a massive pop of airtime at the top)
-Triple Threat (a series of three moments of airtime coming seconds after one another)
Treble Cleft (A manuever matching the shape of the music note. It has very high G forces)
Crowd Surfer (a 100 degree turn of the entrance and outside queue of the ride, you're literally surfing over the crowd.
And more.
The trains are very impressive, and feature the best onboard audio I've heard on any coaster. The ability to choose your own song from hundreds is very interesting. I prefer either Kickstart My Heart, by Motley Crew, or Paralyzer by Finger Eleven.
The trains also feature a light ing package that brightens the day, and the night with constanty changing colors. The restrains are oversized lapbars that sit comfortably across you stomach, and provide a very open experience. The track is also very smooth, making the ride even better.
Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit, is now my #1 roller coaster because of the amazing overall experience the ride has provided time and time again.
No no no, in my opinions it was ok. a bit shaky. the first hill was a pain going strait up. The Melleniums first hill is taller correct? Its fast, smooth and overall awesome. @profilecomment Much taller and faster actually. Cedar Point has the best rides, and there are a lot. Lucky I live in Ohio
